bye bye causality XD
I remember hearing about this quite a while ago.. but it's still just as brain wrenching as it was then.
My relativity knowledge is a little old, but as I recall the idea is that as you travel closer and closer to the speed of light, mass would increase and time slow till, at the speed of light, mass reaches infinite and time stops. Of course the catch is that to push an infinite mass you'd need more than infinite energy, which is obviously impossible (more or less.. as far as we know XD)
the idea that light can be slowed or sped up is.. weird to say the least. To be able to watch a glow appear before it's generated would be.. odd, not to mention watching light travel.
I've always wondered what would happen to light if it was slowed down. It's odd properties would surely change at a slower speed..
I mean we can measure light in POUNDS.. if we can make it hold still long enough, could we have a Bag-o-Light?

What if the new character is a villian that stays a villian? ...that'd be pretty cool On the Chaotix topic, I still want them to explain Mighty's death. Even if it is in passing. "Hey didn't there used to be a fourth one of them?" "He walked across a very sharp cattlegrid wearing an extremely heavy hat." "Oh. Right." Nonono, obviously Mighty has turned into a Protoman-like character. He's gone off on his own to find his way in the universe, and will return only when the plot demands it or when there are bonus items to be given... and he'll star wearing a kick-ass scarf XD

Not even on the PSP's larger screen? *checks* might be almost big enough. I'm talking 17" screen TV here as being the minimum size for decent playability. Although, this might just be me. I haven't heard a lot of other people gripe about screen size. All I know is that every time I play SAd1 or 2 I keep having problems actually being able to see baddies, spikes and pits before I'm right on top of them. The LCD blur doesn't help either. Again, maybe it's a problem with just me, but it seems that when the action gets really fast-paced the LCD screen blur makes details (such as what is a baddie and what isn't) hard to see, combined with a small screen size it becomes very hard to see and react to an obstacle before you are killed by it. The PSP's 4.3 inch display would help alleviate this, partly, although the blur would still be a factor. However, when you think about it, 4.3 inches is just a little over half the width of a standard sheet of notebook paper. It may sound like a nice big size, compared to the older game boys, but it's still fairly small, and would still be tricky to see things before they become a problem. Think of it like this: Why do cars have nice big windshields? Because drivers need a large area of vision to let them better contend with on-coming traffic and other obstacles. Imagine if, as you drove, you had your view from the drivers seat projected onto a four inch screen instead of being able to see out your windshield. I don't think anyone would tolerate that for long. .. *ahem* but I digress. This game looks pretty good, despite the small screen. And like SAd1 and 2 the faults I see don't really lie with the game as much as the system on which it is being played.

Looks pretty good, although what can you tell with a postage-stamp sized amount of visible action to watch.. (need broadband! AUUGH!)
Does anyone else thing that at one point the music sounded like it was about to do Loui Loui (or however that song title is spelled)?
oooh.. 3D boss battle!
The only problem I have with this is the same thing I ranted about with SAd1 and 2. Tiny screen size does not, in my opinion go well with the whole action platformer genre.
Sure we get two screens now, but so what? They aren't a single screen so we get a nice division between them to make it harder to track movement.
My dream sonic game would be on the game cube (or some other non-portable system) and make use of hi-res sprites or 2.5D graphics (like Rush here) and put it up on an actual TV screen rather than a tiny LCD screen with it's wonderful LCD blur that makes action games so hellish to play.
But all that aside, it looks like it might be pretty cool. And at the very least it will provide us with a source of totally ubar Sprite Sheets XD

I like these more than I thought I would. They're actually kind of catchy, I think I like the female singer mixed with some of the more powerful instrumental backing. I was kinda apprehensive at first too, but yeah.. they aren't bad really. I want to attribute it to it not being an American commercial product and that perhaps Douglas Addams might have had a hand in making sure it wasn't terrible XD I particularly like the first (Marvin) and the third (Reasons to be Miserable), although the other two aren't bad either. I think what really makes it work is that they used the actual voice actor from the Radio/TV series to do Marvin. If they had hired some generic singer to do his voice, it wouldn't have worked. And I SWEAR that's the TV Trillian in the background in those songs.. but I could be mistaken. Although.. could someone tell me if this is the server or my own computer? Sometimes when I was downloading the files, they would end early, giving me only partial downloads. Did anyone else get that too?

Thank you^^
I have been an avid Hitchhikers Guide fan since.. well.. as long as I can remember. My mother introduced the books to me by reading them to me before bed when I was very young and we have the books close at hand ever since. I have the TV series on DVD and a wonderful black leatherette bound single volume edition of entire series (The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, Life the Universe and Everything, So Long and Thanks for all the Fish, Young Zaphod Plays it Safe and Mostly Harmless). I am also poking about on-line to see if the radio series happens to be on CD or Tape or something. Or, at the very least, the scripts available somewhere.
I also have the first three books on CD, as read by Douglas Addams himself, complete and unabridged. That's something like twenty CDs XD
And I am eagerly counting down the days till the movie comes out on DVD.
So yeah.. I'm obsessed XD

Old news? www.thebigcdomain.com/media/marvin.htmlNow be nice and don't kill his band-with XD I found out about these songs while looking for lyrics to the Reasons to be Miserable remix on the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy movie soundtrack. Apparently there were recourds released featuring these songs.. I wonder how many more might be lurking around? lyrics are on the page, but here's the lyrics to Reasons to be Miserable: Reasons to be miserable: In my brain a pain, Very little turns me on, Marvin is my name. I'm a robot, It's my lot, A robot full of cares. I'd feel a little better if they broke me up for spares. Everything I say or do, I find the world condemning, If I had my time again, I'd rather be a lemming. I'm just a menial robot. Oh well. They drive my crazy with their: "Marvin, close the door." Well isn't it enough to make you "Tidy up the floor." You know, it spoils a robot's day. "Marvin, when you're finished you can put yourself away." I'm going to flip my lid! They treat me like a kid! Robot naughty, robot bad, Robot happy, robot sad. "Who's a clever robot lad?" It would drive a human mad. Robots are inhuman, Robots are inhuman. Human robots are in, Human robots are in. I get no satisfaction. I'm bored. Can't bear these humans when they Make me do their work, I'd rather be a calculator. Treat me like a jerk. Hahaha, that'll be the day. Pat me on the head, I'd rather be a percolator. It'd be no trouble just to bubble life away. Don't get a holiday, Or friends to stay. How can a robot think With his elbows in the sink? "Marvin, peel a grape." Is there no escape? "Marvin, dig a hole." "Play some rock and roll." Yeah, I dig it. I really hate it when they Underload my brain, Washing up the dirty dishes. Diodes give me pain. Walking dogs and feeding fishes, Driving me insane. Just a metal slave is What a robot is, And always... will remain. 'tis teh leet XD

Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi are my staple sodas, although I will drink pretty much any soda that doesn't have sugar. Blood sugar problems run in my family and I realized a great way to cut back on sugar would be to drink diet soda instead of regular. Now I can't drink regular.. tastes very sweet and makes me make odd faces XD
Although I keep a decent supply of decaffeinated soda as well so I can get on to sleep at night XD

This topic came up in my family today, and I thought it might be interesting to ask the opinion of others on this: How do you think and remember things? For me, I remember things in 3rd person, as if I am an observer rather then the participant. I also think and see in this manner. When i look at people or things in general, I see myself looking at that person from a 3rd person perspective. My Mom thinks and remembers in 1st person. My brother and dad say they do both. So, how do you guys think and remember things? edit: spelling :[ How do I remember things? Very badly XD Mostly third person.. almost like I'm revisiting someone else's memories. I can almost conjure an image of the event from third person.. it's odd. Perhaps it's just the power of my imagination, but I seem to remember things almost from third person, like I am watching myself (yet not myself) doing things. I am always very unclear, yet the things around me are clearer. Does that make any sense? Prolly not. Interesting question.

I hate those auto-flush toliets. You make one wrong move and you gotta make a break for it. *pikes up a thick, black, leatherette bound book with gold embossed letters on it, flips open to a marked chapter* And I quoteth from the book: "The machine was rather difficult to operate. For years radios had been operated by means of pressing buttons and turning dials; then, as the technology became more sophisticated the controls were made touch-sensitive -- you merely had to brush the panels with your fingers; now all you had to do was wave your hand in the general direction of the components and hope. It saved a lot of muscular expenditure, of course, but meant that you had to sit infuriatingly still if you wanted to keep listening to the same program." -- The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, By Douglas Addams, Chapter 12, paragraph 1. I can just imagine it.. one day all you will have to do is approach the toilet and it will flush. You shift your position because your bum is falling asleep and it will flush. You merely walk by the stall and it will flush at you! Anyway, sounds cool^^

Well it's common knowledge that (insert name of computer brand I don't use) is the worst computer company in history and that (insert name of computer company who's computer I am currently using)'s computers works perfectly, particularly the (insert name of model I am using) which I consider to be the greatest computer in the known universe! Congrats on the new computer! But does it have power doors and anti-lock brakes? I won't have the PC untill this weekend. still.. you are getting it right? So congratulations in advance! unless, of course, you aren't, in which case, stop messing with our heads XD

HAY, THAT LOOKS SHOPPED. I can tell because of the pixels and from having seen quite a few shops in my time. Also, "WHAT'S IN YOUR WALLET!" @ Keith Hemari My wallet? Well.. *opens wallet* My ID, of course.. my proof of insurance, a couple fortunes from fortune cookies ('Take the advice of a faithful friend' and 'You are a traveler at heart. There will be many journeys.', an insurance business card from one of the many insurance people who have bugged me at work, a very worn looking piece of paper that has important phone numbers on it, a Jewel/Osco Preferred Customer Card, a AAA card, my library card which has been expired since even before I got it, my Bank One debit card, and a Chinese Lucky Coin which my aunt brought back for me from a trip to Hawaii. I used to have more fortunes in there, about half a dozen, but I accidentally washed my wallet one day and they were destroyed.. even my favorite fortune of all time: "This biscuit suits my taste" I will never forget that fortune as long as I shall live XD
