Some people (like me) actually like to buy GOOD games though, and dont just settle with, "Whatever is cheapest" and not care if its a good game or not. And if I have to buy a $100 console for 3 or 4 games that ARE good, and do intrest me on a console, or settle with 5 dollar bargain bin games, that blow ass, why even buy the console? I DONT WANT TO PLAY DRAGON BALL Z SAGAS! Wait, wait wait, assuming an OLD early release game isn't good based on it's price is silly. The fact that gamestop (back when it was "Funcoland") was selling Sonic 2 Genesis carts for around 2$ doesn't make it a bad game, does it? You better believe it doesn't! There are good titles that sold for high profits in thier day that can easily be snagged for under 20$ now. But do I want to spend $100 on a console, and spend even more money on games from 2001 that I never even wanted in the first place? No. I'd rather save that money and buy a 360, or a DS. I dont care if they're good games or not, it still involves me spending way too much money to play them. Money that could be going to newer and better things.

Reasons I don't own a PS2:
-I literally don't have enough room on the desk around my TV to place it without stacking it on other consoles or whatever.
-EVERY one of my friends has one. If I really want to play PS2, I'll go over there.
-Really, it's hard enough getting around to playing the games I already have NOW, let alone buying a whole new console with many new ones..

Well, FF7 and FF8 were ported to the PC.

I thought he was using an emulator which would sort of make him half a hypocrite--but I could be wrong.

I'm sure he is. But that's a Playstation 1, not 2, and he might have simply forgot the '2' part of the equation.

I thought he meant the brandname over all.
Oh well, I guess he would have to wait for awhile to play the rest of the FF games.
In addition, I think is ridculous for a fan of jRPGs to refuse or have not the slightest bit of interest in a PS2 because of some anti-Sony agenda seeing that it is obviously home to many great RPGs.

He was playing the SNES FF games before -- FF loyalty but not PS loyalty.
That being said, judging by the resolution, I'd say it's emulated with enhanced 3D. That what I do. Except that I own the actual game and decide to play it on an emulator instead of the PS (which is perfectly legal, except for the pirated BIOS) for various reasons (including portability and not having to worry about my already near-full memory cards).
Now, honestly, I have no clue if he owns copies of the games or not, but judging from his track record...

Actually... I'm not sure. It seemed too expensive and not very appealing back in the day when I still had my Dreamcast. Also, I haven't been really interested in videogames this generation. I mean, I still like them, but I've been like disconnected. Proof is I bought a Gamecube with Wind Waker when I was still in high school and now it's my second year at university and I'm still on the part where you get the Master Sword. Which doesn't mean I don't like the game, but... I don't really know what happened. Also, I haven't bought any other game, although this also has to do with eh, like money and stuff. Perhaps part of this disconnection comes from the fact I was very disappointed when Sega went third party or something...

Somehow, I knew my sig would make someone saw something such as "you say that with FF8 in your sig". Well, Oni explained it best: He was playing the SNES FF games before -- FF loyalty but not PS loyalty. Oh and... Now, honestly, I have no clue if he owns copies of the games or not, but judging from his track record... Sshhhhhttt!

Oh yes, I'm going to tell the world that some guy named SonKnuck pirates Final Fantasy games! I don't think anyone really cares. I personally don't pirate PSX games, but it's none of my business if some guy named Dominic in Canada pirates FF8. Sooo, this thread got a bit derailed. (Yay for reusing selfmade image macros )

And I said: Oh well, I guess he would have to wait for awhile to play the rest of the FF games. You do know newer entries of the main series will be on PS consoles, do you? Seriously, I believe most people buy a PS console to play their favorite franchises from 3rd-parties which is the opposite for Nintendo machines in which people mainly buy them for the first party offerings.
