RIGHT THEN.
There's no way I can pass up a discussion like this, now can I?
I'm going to ignore all this SATAM FUS crap because, hey, I don't care, and it has nothing to do with the topic at hand.
Now. First off. I have to say, regardless of the reasons for saying it, proclaiming "I am the girl who'll save One Piece" is presumptious and idealistic. The sentiment is great, but this is the real world. The odds are stacked against the fandom, and running around comparing yourself to fictional ideals isn't going to help a case.
As far as websites go? There's at least a dozen that come to mind all with the same purpose and far more hits. I think its probably better to support one of THEM instead of starting your own.
Not to mention the fact that doing so is incredibly DANGEROUS. I say this for reasons that I hope are fairly simple. 4Kids probably does know that the fansubs of this series exist and that we're watching them. If you start drawing alot of attention to those fansubs and take that attention AWAY from the dub, EVEN IF ITS FOR A GOOD REASON, 4kids is going to send out the cease and desist orders.
And god help you if you start something that's going to result in that. Your motivations may be pure, but you're talking about doing something that stands to cause way more harm than good.
Not supporting an uncut version? I'm sorry, but again, this is totally the wrong message.
Do I think that 4Kids stands to screw up even an uncut version? Yeah, but I'm sure as hell not going to tell them not to at least try to do it.
Don't you understand the reason 4Kids doesn't release uncut versions is because they feel they're not going to make alot of money off of them? Don't you understand the reason their anime series are so butchered TO BEGIN WITH is because they feel they stand to make more money off of the edited content?
Why on earth would you want to boycott something they're trying to get right?
Not wanting to take no for an answer...I can respect that. But you have to know how to pick your battles. You're asking for too much here, and frankly, you're not going to get it.
I wish the fandom COULD get a decent dub, but its not going to happen if you blindly start screaming at people to do this and that.
Sending people subs and raws to get them off of the series? Bad idea. For one thing, its overly costly. And again, far too much of a risk
Regardless of what you want, you're NOT going to get the show away from 4Kids FOREVER. That's not realistic, and the only way you'd pull that off would be to buy the liscence from them.
And if you have enough money to do that, then I have a bridge to sell you.
EDIT: Just thought of something.
Even Luffy knows when not to pick a fight. See, Jaya and Water 7 arcs for proof of this.

As I'm sure someone will jump down your throat about that, I think the basic gist was that was a spoof of one of Luffy's catchphrases - not to be taken as seriously as most have.

This topic has single-handedly become the greatest soap opera/political debate show in the history of mankind. It deserves an award.

Mugen DEV was far worse than this or any topic ever dramatized on the Moogle Cavern, as long as I've been around. Someone please remind me when I came. I do believe it was shortly before the birth of that first chatroom back on EZBread.
Except that here, more intelegence is involved. And whether or not that it's a good thing is to be discovered.
I'd certianly hope 4kids wouldn't start flamethrowing fansubs. It could be bad for the internet. Napster all over again and so forth. Buh.

Okay, I just got up, and I really don't feel like putting up with PC0, so I'll summarize this.
Yeah. You're annoying, you're fanatical, and quite frankly, you act really stupid over silly things. Even Sonique didn't get her bunches all in a knot over my comments, something that really suprised (and pleased) me. Ever notice why the people around you aren't so 'passionate', PC0? Because it's zealotry and fanaticsm, dumbass.
(Afternote-- Just as a counter to me being in the FUS community, no, I wasn't, but I sure as hell was left in the wake of it -- thus my annoyance. NEX--wait, what)

This topic has single-handedly become the greatest soap opera/political debate show in the history of mankind. It deserves an award. Yeah, sorry about that. I did start a flamewar, though it seems to be only between me and PC0 (though see above-- I should be backing out of it now, if only because he's so repetitive and I don't feel like it). I took this topic as an opportunity to throw forth my feelings about the whole SatAM issue, which was sorta wrong, but it did tie into my feelings of how well this little plan for One Piece would do. So, all in all, sorry everyone for dragging this on. It won't happen anymore, save for some exceptionally rare circumstances.

I didn't hear that the uncut DVDs were being done by Funimation or someone else. In that case, buy buy buy XD and as I said I just don't want to give 4kids money. I'm sure they'll screw up the uncut DVDs beyond belief as well but if someone else is doing it... well hey that's even better. There's at least a dozen that come to mind all with the same purpose and far more hits. Can you show me some please? Even Luffy knows when not to pick a fight. See, Jaya and Water 7 arcs for proof of this. Seen the Jaya one He coulda taken that guy though ;_; and the way I see it, if all I get out of this is showing some kids the subbed version and they realize what they're missing, it's worth it ^_^

I'm sure they'll screw up the uncut DVDs beyond belief as well but if someone else is doing it... well hey that's even better. Okay first of all, this is a misconception. The DVDS are published by Funimation. This is true. However, its a part of a liscencing agreement with 4Kids, who shops around to get various groups to publish their dvds instead of doing it in house. 4Kids is still getting money from the sales. Which means, uncut or not, 4Kids is the one responsible for the content. They're the ones that put out the uncut YuGiOh and Shaman King dvds, which, believe it or not, were quite good. And this is where your first problem lies. Don't be so fanatical that you'll ignore the fact that the only thing these companies respond to is sales. You're not going to "teach them a lesson" by organizing a boycott, especially since regardless of your efforts, you're in a minority. Try to remember that we're talking about a series that's aired on network television on saturday mornings. That alone means that for every ONE hardcore fan that's demanding an uncut dub, there's at least FIFTY people watching that are giving 4Kids the okay. Also, as far as ratings go? VERY few of the people actually watching the dub are Nielson families. When 4Kids judges success, they're most likely going by DVD sales. Which brings me back to my original point. The entire reason they stopped putting out uncut DVDs of the two previously mentioned series is BECAUSE of thinking like this. So to put it as simply as I possibly can: If the uncut DVDS aren't sold out, YOU are sending them the message that edited is the way to go. If you DON'T support the uncut DVDs, THEY won't make them! Off the top of my head, I can think of onepieceuncensored.tripod.com/www.4kids.tv/forum/archive/index.php/t-4750.htmlwww.saveluffy.tk/www.petitionspot.com/petitions/downwithdubberswww.petitionspot.com/petitions/NMCDAwww.petitiononline.com/60mu60mu/petition.htmlNot if it results in the fansubbers being shut down.

Thank you Ice. I was hoping you'd come flying in or however you frozen dragons prefer your transportation.
PC0: Ah, sorry about misinterpreting your message then. Thanks for being mild-mannered about the mistake and not getting annoyed, too. ;>
And as Seph has noticed that this has gone rather far, I declare this borderline flame-war (aside: Tenn, you need to get around the internets more often. Generally people actually like die in flame wars.) ... uh... extinguished? Damp? I'm sure PC0 will feel like getting a word in, JUST DON'T STIR ANYTHING UP OKAY? OKAY.

Yeah, you should see the 4Kids topics on GameFAQs. At least people here are a bit level-headed, in general most of the 4Kids topics there either turn into RP topics about destroying 4Kids/CN/Funimation/etc. with Gundams and colony drops or a contest on who can post the best forum picture*. *Not that I partipicated in said forum picture contests**.**Lie.
