Most of their audiance are young children who dont use the internet or really care to this extent about the quality of their cartoons. If you do indeed hit their ratings I dont think it would be enough to cause concern. True true, this is going to be certainly a roadblock XD I'm hoping people who know about the sub or whatever might have little brothers or sisters who watch the show or know someone who watch the show. BAsically I just want people to spread the word. It doesn't matter whether or not you'll take no for an answer, it's functionally (absolutely, unquestionally) impossible to stop something like this once the ball gets rolling and the dub is actually released. And they all looked at Luffy and said it would be impossible for him to become the pirate king Sz posted my exact thoughts on the matter. Except for the one that asks what kind of ego it takes to say you'll single-handedly (I'm the girl who'll save One Piece, despite asking for help, that's putting yourself at the forefront) 'save' an anime from corporate hands when your previous attempts to do so with SatAM failed. 1. You haven't seen One Piece have you? Luffy usualy says "I am the man who'll become the pirate king!" so I was just kinda quoting him 2. Failed?.... Failed? FAILED?OMFG! ARE YOU SERIOUS? ... You're serious aren't you? wow... yikes... man where have you been? Not only did we get the super Sonic DVD because of fan demand (Ben Hurst told me it was because of fan demand) we ALMOST got a box set if Sega hadn't stepped in and SatAM is now airing sucessfully in numerous countries even in different languages. So, no I don't think I did fail with SatAM at all, thank you. Perhaps there is no third season (yet ) but I'd say I've definatly achieved quite a bit... WITH the help of my Fellow FUSers of course ^_^ I LOVE YOU ALL ;D That damages the very thing you're trying to achieve. It's unexpected to begin with that they'll actually sell an uncut version, because people want it so badly ... I just don't want to give 4kids any money at all. They need to see what they/re donig is wrong... okay that'll never happen. But I want to support anything they do. I don't want an uncut version of the DVD out BY THEM! I'd rather have NO uncut DVD than a 4kids uncut DVD. annnddd Im not sure if it matters because I've heard this is just an untrue rumor =/ So uh.. yeah I've all ready brought saveonepiece.com and... hmm I'd have to say the people on the One Piece MB that I posted this at were way more cynicle than you guys, but nice try =D Seriously though, Im going to make a site and a list of things people can do to help. I might just change it to "Help one Piece" and make my goal making sure kids get the full experience of One Piece ;D EDIT: Hey no one told me... doe anyone have that site Blaze had a while back? Anyone?

Eh? Correct me if I'm wrong, but was the ones responsible for not releasing Sonic 90's SatAm in boxsets were Disney and not Sega because of some copyright issues.
And yes, by not supporting the uncut DVDs you will indirectly support the crappy TV edited DVDs many anime fans are against because parents will buy the edited DVDs for their kids no matter what. As a result, it gives 4Kids the incentive to purchase the rights to more anime and not release uncut DVDs for future properties at all as proof to them that unedited anime is a too small a market to be profitable.

We thought it was Disney but after some research and interviews we found this not to be true. I'm not sure why we were told Disney but someone at DiC but maybe she was just confused or something. Anyway, yes, it was Sega

Anyway, yes, it was Sega On that bit, Sonique would know. She bloody runs www.satamsonic.com - so I think she'd know better than any of us ;D Frankly, to all you saying it's impossible, reconsider for a moment. DBZ's dubbing what horrible, yet there was such an uprise amongst the fans that changes DID happen. In fact, Funimation's ENTIRE dubbing strategy was altered because of it. Most of the series they've done since have been far surperior to ones they did prior to the changes in DBZ (look at Yu Yu Hakusho). The fans changed the ENTIRE company's policies, I don't see why we can't do the same to 4Kids, atleast partially. We should atleast try, come on people.

wow this is going to be fun.
1. Why the fuck are you getting bent out of shape for a fucking generic Japanese cartoon? You act like it's some act of God that everybody needs to see in it's uncut form, but all it is is a cartoon that follows the Dragon Ball formula to the dot which makes it pretty damn predictable and boring.
2. The Japanese companies could give a shit less about what happens to the cartoon in the first place. As long as they get money they're happy. A shitload of changes happen IN YURO PRECIUS ANIME because of the companies want a bit more profit form the series (see: The original Gundam and all the stupid-looking Moble Armors that attacked Amuro weekly like in Super Robot shows even though one of it's main gimmicks was that it was billed as a realistic giant robot show)
3. Having ten or so wapanese kiddies stop watching a TV show is not going to affect the ratings one damn bit. OMG U SURE TOLD THOSE EVIL POOPY HEADS AT 4KIDS.
4. If you're going to stop buying products from 4Kids, you might as well stop doing things like buying games form Square Enix, as they had Ted Woosly translate previous games in which he did TERRIBLE and CRUEL things like CHANGE DIOLOGUE, which is completely UNACCEPTABLE, EVIL AND RUINS THE GAME.
Form Blaze's site:
No. It was intended for kids (OMG LOL PUN). EVERYTHING in Shoen Jump is for children.

You act like it's some act of God that everybody needs to see in it's uncut form, but all it is is a cartoon that follows the Dragon Ball formula to the dot which makes it pretty damn predictable and boring. From my article: "Because you're not getting the full experience. 4KIDS Entertainment doesn't think you're smart enough to even understand what the full experience is. In it's original, Manga Format, currently running in the American version of Shonen-Jump, One Piece is rated "T for Teens". It contains violence, blood, and adult language. 4KIDS cut the One Piece animated series down to a Y7 rating to air it on TV. You are missing a lot - and you're getting a product, that by far, is not living up to it's fullest potential. One Piece was heralded as the hottest anime License in Japan for a reason; and 4KIDS has decided that the winning combination One Piece had wasn't enough - they had to change the content. This is their definition of "honoring the original series". One Piece fans will tell you that the show deserves better, and I most certainly know that we, as the viewers, deserve better.
In as few words as possible, I am saying that 4KIDS Entertainment should do it right the first time or not do it at all. "Here's a good way of putting it; let's take part of something away that you like - You like sex, right? Orgasms are good! Imagine for a moment that your girlfriend removes a quarter of your wang - maybe even a half, if she feels generous. Why, you're losing a lot of pleasure now, aren't you! That's what this is like. Not true. "Mew Mew Power" as it's called now, was "Tokyo Mew Mew". When 4KIDS mentioned they were bringing it to the states, they said they were going to rename the show to "Hollywood Mew Mew" and were going to change it so much you would not even be able to tell it was anime anymore - mainly because they felt kids weren't smart enough to know what "anime" is. There was a massive - gargantuan - fan outcry about this - even the original Japanese creators were pissed off. 4KIDS changed it "back" and did a far more traditional dub, after that. Hey, you're a dick and you obviously don't understand the problem here. It's not so much they change dialogue - I can understand localization. Changing an obscure joke, for example, that only Japanese would understand to something Americans would get - that's fine. But we're talking destroying vital elements to a TV show, twisting it into some mutated unholy soul-less beast that should not be allowed to live. Not just changing dialogue, but changing the entire plot, destroying emotional impact... basically, 4KIDS runs a "chop shop" - they get a license, strip it down for spare parts and rebuild other TV shows from the leftovers. Yeah. That's why the rating on the cover clearly says "TEEN", right? Why there is heavy swearing, why there's heaps of uncut violence, blood, gore - and lewd, perverse jokes, right? Because it's for kids? Right? Seriously. If you're not even trying to make a sound arguement, just get the hell out of the thread now and save everybody a lot of trouble. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about at all.

Blaze, don't bother, he's (she?) not worth your time ^_^
I love how your article is written. I especially love the "You're stupid!" part in the beginning XD I was thinking of posting at the 4kids forums with the title "One Piece is in danger! Find out how to help it!" and on the inside have info about saveonepiece.com but I wonder how far "You're stupid!" and then your information would get me XD
Hmm... I know originally I said not to buy an uncut DVD by 4kids and I still want to stand by that, but I can see some of the points people are making. My point is, I don't want 4kids to get any money at all. I don't want them to make a profit off of One Piece so that they'll hopefully just drop it and the rights can go to someone else or AT LEAST we won't have horrible dubs. I'd rather have no One Piece at all then a horrible 4kids dub.
I'm reaally curious to see how they'll handle the Crocodile situation.
Anyone see how they had Mihawk slice Zoro wide open without showing blood? Did candy fly out or something? Zoro was a pinyatta for that episode maybe?...

I really shouldn't bother, but I had these Shonen Jump scans laying around. I think I first made them way back when 4KIDS first announced they got One Piece. Just a matter of finding the images and re-uploading. Yu-Gi-Oh"You can keep the lighter! Take it with you... to hell!"1 2 3"Huh! It's just a test of courage..."1Naruto"I call this one the Ninja Centerfold! Hahaha!"1Kakashi goes all to pieces 1 2One Piece Hell of a place for an ashtray 1"The hand... it's floating!"1"Zoro, don't do this! Your guts will squirt out!"1Yu Yu Hakusho"Whoo, Them's some bug-ugly panties."1Shonen Jump is totally for kids. Edit: When Mihawk cut Zoro, Sonique, they just didn't show any blood. Zoro's shirt got cut open (showing just bare skin, no cut marks) and he fell to the ground.

Sz posted my exact thoughts on the matter. Except for the one that asks what kind of ego it takes to say you'll single-handedly (I'm the girl who'll save One Piece, despite asking for help, that's putting yourself at the forefront) 'save' an anime from corporate hands when your previous attempts to do so with SatAM failed. 1. WITH the help of my Fellow FUSers of course ^_^ I LOVE YOU ALL ;D Hmmm. Ben Hurst is not God. He never will be. Thus, whenever you quote Ben Hurst and not an official press release, it makes you look like an overenthusiastic yuppie. Now that your 'official' source has been dropped due to lack of confirmation by anything truly official, it's pretty safe to deem that the DVD was released more as an experiment than it was 'fan demand.' In addition, I don't see a third season of SatAM or a box set. Whoops! FAILURE. To go off topic a little bit, I used to like SatAM a fair bit. I'd watch it every now and then. But I also used to watch AoStH and Archie, and even Sonic Underground. Then I came on the Internet and found that SatAM was praised as if it was some kind of amazing idol, and everything else was just horrible in comparison. I grew angry with you zealots very quickly-- it was like anyone who didn't think SatAM was the second coming of Christ wasn't enlightened and would never see the rapture. Do you know how many people you've turned away due to this fanaticsm? Even if you've 'changed' now, it should be known that I'm not just being an asshole for the sake of it-- I have my reasons to have a poor opinion of you and your 'efforts.' EDIT: That above little rant really doesn't apply to anyone at the Moogle Cavern, as far as I can tell. And in addition, I was really hoping for a season 3, or a box set; but not for FUS, or SatAM, but because it was Sonic, and I'm a Sonic fan, not a Ben Hurst fan. Off that little tangent, you're really idiotic for denying the common sense around here-- boycott the uncut DVDs and we'll NEVER see anything uncut, because it'll look like there's no market for it. Smart idea, defeating your own cause! Uncut DVDs will reach more than some silly website aimed at people who already agree with you, rather than some little kid who thinks pirate ships have laser beams instead of cannons. (Afternote: Even though you seem to have come slightly to your senses after reading your posts more carefully, giving 4Kids money for something you want will *SUPRISE* give you more of what you want.) In the end, I DO want the same thing as you-- anime that isn't butchered to hell and back. But your means are so overdone it really makes me sour on the entire situation. I'm done for now. All I have to do is sit back and wait for (a) the flames from supporters (b) the not-so-flaming replies from those at neutral ground or (c) complete oblivion to my entire post.

I also have to point out that it is not 4Kids who put out the DVDs at all, but it is Funimation--another popular company that is on the far end on the 4Kids Philosophy spectrum. But not supporting the uncut DVDs you are also not supporting Funi, either.
And about Shounen Jump actually, the main demo for the mag(at least in Japan) are 9-16 year olds which explains why you have more kid-friendly serials like Hikari no Go along with more mature serials like Death Note runing in the same mag. While its big brother, Ultra Jump targets 17-18.
Nobody cares 'til it happens to your favorite show...
Unfortunately, Teflon's statement is vaild in this case as Toei is not known for caring for the integrity of their shows and they want to make a quick buck just as much as 4Kids. If you look at their history with anime in America, you see that they usually go for the most popular anime distributer at the moment(DiC, Saban, and now 4Kids) and we usually get some god awful dub from them. XP

I say go for it. It's better than doing nothing at all. How can you expect anybody to listen to you in silence? Sure it may not do much as of now, but at least it gets the ball rolling down the lane. As long as the site gets one person to agree and spread the word, it's done it's job. Like that one saying of a single drop stirs an ocean or something like that.

The Pirate Rap is great and amusing. If your "task" is to get rid of it, fuck that.
Well, not that I care, as the comic kicks the cartoon's ass, but YO HO HO HE TOOK A BITE OF GUM GUM, man.
