um.. northing's happening...
I mean, that is an improvement over the GBA version but.... >.>
Edit: Oh, hey, it would help if I let it finish downloading XD
Will post thoughts in a moment.
Edit2: Ahh, that's the stuff. Yeah, this is better! Although, I have to say the sprite is a bit.. squished. Still, very well done for not being a multi-million dollar company with a whole team of people working together. When just one person can do better than the whole of a company, you should be afraid.

I'm not likely to be getting a new console for a while, but I'm still interested in this game. Has anyone heard any comparisons between TPWii and TPGC?

I got news that at our local store the police had to be called, and the ambulances. Fights started and a few people got hurt. Like, seriously hurt. The word from one store was that they were supposed to get 10 units in, but only got four.
This will go down in history as the most idiotically mis-managed launch of all time. Seriously. The only way Sony could do worse would be to announce that every fifth unit they shipped out was actually an empty metal box used for display.

Oh, it was the word 'scale' that got me. Still, that's pretty stupid.

Wait wait wait wait... so, lemme get this straight.
This would be kinda like having a emulator that had no 2X, 3X, 4X, etc video mode, right? So basically they won't let you fit the image to your own TV?
That's not just stupid, that's staggeringly obtuse! This kind of thing reminds me of the incident with the PSP, where the buttons didn't work right and, as I recall, the designers basically said "That's the way we made it, so deal with it."
I can't really comprehend what kind of thinking (or lack there of) goes into these sorts of choices...

Sony - Fostering peace and love throughout the.. oh.. wait.. I mean, breeding violence and greed around the world. There we go.
Heh, indeed, depressing but hilarious.

I liked how Palmtree Panic had three different gimmicks they used once, then never again. (The "3D" loop, the tunnel where Sonic's shot through a wall and leaves an outline behind, Amy grabbing onto Sonic and stopping him.) "Ok, sir, we've put the gimmicks in Palmtree Panic, what about the other zones?" "Bumpers!" "Sir?" "Lots and lots of bumpers! And springs! And make one of them a vertically arranged zone, that will confuse the crap out of them!" "Oookay... we're also running out of good names that use the same first letter... maybe we cou-" "WACKY WORKBENCH!!" "..."

You know.. I never really understood that about Sonic CD. I mean, the soundtracks are great, the animations are cool... but I never really got into the game itself. It always felt like it could be really good.. if the levels weren't so.. demented. I find myself trying to keep up with Sonic as he gets thrown all over the play field and not always quite sure what is and is not a platform. Though I always managed to make it to the end... somehow XD Eh, it was a cool game anyway.

I kinda figured that, by now, there was virtually noone left from the original group, besides Naka (and now even he's gone).
So far, as afar as SEGA is concerned, the concept of Sonic Team has done exactly what they want. It takes credit for the terrible games they have made. People talk about how badly "Sonic Team" did on the game and never stop to realize that "Sonic Team" is owned and directed by SEGA and anything they do has to be aproved by SEGA, ergo, SEGA is the real boss. Even when Naka was around, I doubt he had any real power.
It's like middle management. The Big Wigs make all the idiotic choices and the lower rung managers have to take the blame for it.

...
You're kidding me. They didn't tell their beta testers everything they should and should not be able to do?
You know... I'm currently involved in the beta testing of a game, and one of the first things you are told to read is a list of everything you should and should not be able to do in the game, so that you actually, like, know when something is or is not happening right.
Hell.. no wonder the game is so pathetic.

Wow, good music. Thanks Blaze^^
Edit: Listening to more of this, it reminds me a lot of Sonic Adventure.. which, to me, is a good thing. SA had some of the best music of any modern Sonic game.
His World: Really good, right up until they started the rap. Is there a instrumental version?

I've been playing Sonic Heroes PC, and it's a lot less glitchy. So, I have hope for the PC version of this. The game isn't so much glitchy as it is just... poorly constructed. There are bugs, but the problems with the game go way beyond bugs. For example, Adventure Fields. Some games are big because they contain a lot of content. Soleanna is big just for the sake of being big. Soleanna is full of huge, wide roads but there are no cars. No congestions of people. There might be 5 or 6 people sitting at a cafe that seats 25, for example. The whole city is just huge and very empty. It gets even worse once you get to the forest outside of Soleanna. The forest is bigger than all the Adventure Fields for SA1 combined and there's almost nothing out there. A few ugly trees, a couple of construction workers, and big, massive, boring, empty space, where you have to run 3 minutes just to get to a stupid stage entrance. It's insane. I dunno, that doesn't sound so bad.. then again, I like playing games like Morrowind and Oblivion, which involves a lot of travel during quests... so yeah.

It's hard to believe it can be that bad. The videos seemed to show pretty decent game play. At least those that showed game play seemed to.
But when even Ku gets pissed at it, you know there's something wrong.
Sheesh.. well I'm waiting for the PC version, if I'm going to get it. From what people are saying, it's not worth getting a console. Hm.. with a PC version, in theory, some knowledgeable fans could fix what was wrong with it. Just a thought.

how about the 'Ask me before clearing private data' box? That way, if it is Fire Fox doing it, you'll get a prompt - given things are behaving as they should. That's BEEN DONE. Well you never SAID YOU DID THAT.

I wonder how long till Sony takes the path of SEGA. I would so dance in the street on that day. I would. Yup.
And, if by some chance, Microsoft were to do the same, I would dance naked... only not, because I would be arrested for not only public indecency but even, given my physical condition, terrorism.

The pauses weren't bad, IMO. Worked perfectly with the 'bunch of gamers sitting around talking' motif.
Coolness.

Do you think noone pays them to argue about same sex marriage or the environment? Do you think there are no lobbyists about those issues? And do you think none of them have money or power to sway the opinion of a public figure? If you do, then you are hopelessly naive.
I'll give you the environment, though, but the government has achieved nothing but constant conflict.
But there shouldn't be any argument about same sex marriage. There is no legal reason why two people of the same gender can't join in a legal union. No, this is being fought on a religious level, and there politics should not have a say. Individual churches should decided if they will allow it, since it is their right, by our own constitution and their free human will that they can make those choices. Politicians are either being paid to argue or are letting their personal religious beliefs interfere in what should be a simple logical choice. So long as the rights of human beings are not being hindered, religions should not be imposed upon by the government. Which is further evidence that there aren't any politicians worth voting for.
What I mean by progress is that the government would be out of the way of the people who make real differences to this world. The scientists, the doctors, the humanitarians, all those who strive to directly improve the lives of human beings, rather than arguing and waring over the petty, vision-less, and selfish goals of the government.
I will grant that there are times that the government is a benefit. It protects us and, in its own clumsy, and often misguided way, supports us. But all too often, it seems, this support goes awry, because of some politician or other power-holder at the top becomes greedy or biased towards one party or another. In the end, the government is self-defeating, but that's good... god help us if our government actually became productive.. we would be dead within the week.
