Alright, are sony fans really really dumb or something?
My dad has some news channel on, and they were interviewing people waiting in line for a PS3 in (what looked like) new york city. Nothing suprising there, but the lady the guy interviewed was honestly convinced that sony would drop the price, right before friday.
How stupid do you have to be to wait in line for day(s), and your only hopes of getting what you're waiting in line for... is if they drop the price?
This lady clearly isn't intelligent.
I wont group all sony fans in with this woman who clearly has a business degree. We all know that dropping the price of something hundreds of people are waiting in line to buy is such a good idea!
But I will say that there are a lot of other stories I've been hearing that make me question the sony fan's way of thinking...
Some sony fans think, "Hey, Im gonna get 3 of them, and sell two of them on ebay, great idea!". Now this isnt a dumb idea... But not big name re-tailer like circuit city and best buy will let them buy more than one anyway... Yet I know of people waiting in line at one store, with no preorders, in hopes of getting 3 PS3's.
I just dont see it happening.
Anyway... yeah, PS3 comes out tomorrow, any other stories about ludicrous fans and what-not?

I think the driveby shooting takes the win here. Bizarre, depressing, and hilarious, all at the same time.

Sony - Fostering peace and love throughout the.. oh.. wait.. I mean, breeding violence and greed around the world. There we go.
Heh, indeed, depressing but hilarious.

This is almost as bad as the insanity surrounding the midterm elections.
Man, the GOP sent me some hilarious e-mails about the Kerry Joke.

I have a close group of friends who have been talking about this entire situation for the past few days...
One, a Gamestop worker. Another, a GameCrazy worker. The last, a Circuit City worker.
The circuit city worker has been telling me that of all the people he talked to who are lining up for the PS3, only 2 wanted it for the system itself. The rest are selling it.
The Game Crazy worker is telling me that Sony cut down their shipments again to somewhere around 100,000, and that his store is receiving less than a handful of the system.
The Gamestop worker is telling me that people are getting violent in the lines and fist fights are breaking out. 4 people in the area were shot with a bee-bee gun, while Walmart had to kick people who were waiting back by the gaming area outside because one person in particular started getting violent.
In other words, this launch is looking to be 'hellish'. We'll see if the Wii launch produces anything much better.

One, a Gamestop worker. Another, a GameCrazy worker. The last, a Circuit City worker. A Gamestop employee, a GameCrazy worker and a Circuit City salesman walk into a bar... The bartender looks at them and asks "Is this supposed to be a joke?"

Funny thing is, despite this botched launch it is still one of the most, if not, the most hyped up console by the media and it will probably dominate this gen worldwide just like the PS1 and PS2 before it. Probably not so much as the last two machines, but they got certain developers by the balls.

The line outside Circuit City has been pretty calm so far. My managers at Target are freaking out about it, though. Talking about getting crowd control. Idiots.
