It'd just be nice if MS made their own little free server. Why can't PSU operate in a matchmaking mode? It's not as though it lets people wander freely outside of lobbies, unless it's quite different from PSO. I was under the impression it was still team mission-based stuff like last time. Why the hell would you need a central server for that since everyone should have the same data set stored on-disk...
But that wouldn't cost money. I forget these things =\. Oh well.

When you play online, your inventory, settings, etc. are stored server-side. This is to limit cheating and make fixes for griefers, glitchers, dupers, etc. easier to implement.

It's quite different from PSO. From what I've read online play goes like this.
Cities are located arround the planets, and are huge mmo style lobbies where you can form parties, shop, or just talk to people. From there you go to missions with only your party members, with rest areas along the way in certain missions that also function as mini-city lobbies.
Match Making would not work at all here.

Yeah, it's more MMO styled then it was last time but still has that PSO feel to it.
On a side note, so far my experience with the community on the PC/PS2 side has been pretty good! I've heard the 360 community is a little wacky but I obviously cant confirm that.

I hate this game so much. There is so little online content. Have fun running the Linear Line dungeon and Parum Fields about 20 times before you are ready for anything on Neudaiz. We don't even have Planet Moatoob yet. And once you outlevel most of Neudaiz you get to do Linear Line again except now the Delsaber and pals are level 20! And yet I still play it and intend to grind more tomorrow. Christ what the hell is wrong with me. I realize the game is really awful right now and yet I still play it.

I bet you know there's some PSO behind that deja vu.

Yeah. But atleast that was all the content the game HAD. They are locking us off from so much stuff just to get us to continue paying.
Edit:Well y'know. The ORIGINAL PSO. Blue Burst sucks we all agree so it doesn't count.

Does anyone here actually own / play online? i'm kind of running around alone or with a friend for 10 minutes then they have to go to work, yes strangers are fun to play with also but friends are a lot nicer.

Which version do you have? The 360 rev has voice chat but can't interact with the other two.
