Old thing from the random strip generator. It does indeed get more disturbing without text! Yah, wordless Garfield. Old, but fun.

Garfield gets a pass because it was awesome for 20 years. It's sucked for 6. Still a pretty good rate of return. *remembers that Garfield was created in 1978 and recalls some strips* ...naaaaaah, Garfield hasn't been funny since the late 80's early 90's and even then it was pretty inferior to strips like C&H and the Far Side and this is coming from a former, Garfield-holic. I remember finding a copy of "Garfield: His Nine Lives" at a thrift store while I was killing time a few months ago, and if it wasn't so badly beat up I would've bought it. That book was so surreal, I remember reading it as a kid. I own this book--or I should say I owned this book as I could not seem to find it in my family's house. Such a shame because it's my favorite Garfield book. =( It was cool seeing all these different artists interperation of the character. Plus I wanted Jim Davis to sign my copy when he visited my local book store a few years ago. He said it was his favorite collaboration also.

You may have your memory, but I have documented evidence. IE, more than a few of the compilation books from the early 80s to late 90s. I originally remembered Garfield sucking for longer, too. I have a book with strips from 1999-2000 that says otherwise though!

The first book I owned was the 3rd Garfield collection and my last was 20--something which came out in the early 90's. After that I stopped buying those books and ultimately paying attention to the strip because I found it to be lacking in the funny. =(

Sz is right. It's much easier to name the comics we can stomach.
Dilbert, Mutts, Boondocks (although my paper stopped carrying it recently ;_;), Calvin and Hobbes, Far Side, and some other one I can't remember the name of.
EDIT: I didn't notice there was a third page. This post makes more sense at the very bottom of the second page. :1
EDIT 2: Fox Trot and Get Fuzzy are both pretty good.

Ahahaha, I remember that. Does PBF get printed in any papers over there? Because that would be jawsome.

I recall the old version of his website saying it was being printed in three papers in the US, but the new site's FAQ page doesn't mention anything about it.

PBF is printed in a number of "alternative" newspapers. I used to see it in the Chicago Reader every so often. I think there's actually a list on the PBF website of which papers it runs in.

I love Pearls Before Swine. One of the better comics to come out recently.

Yeah... I remember reading one of the crocodile strips...
"Let me get straight... You fire me?" "OF COURSE I'M FIRING YOU!!" "But me was on time." "YOU... KILLED... A... CUSTOMER." "... Nobody perfect, Bob."

Pearls Before Swine is indeed awesome, except that every time there's a strip with Annie May in it my dad reads it out loud over and over and over to everyone he meets for weeks and it gets SO. ____ING. OLD.
(note: the ____ is because Matthew's looking over my shoulder so I couldn't type what I was really thinking)

We fortunately (and unfortunately) have our own slew of cartoonists and, therefore, comics. But those who read La Nacion have to suffer a translated version of Lola. (Not that the original is any better!)

Oh God, Neroman, I forgot that comic existed. The drawings in that strip are sometimes so embarassingly bad that it's hard to believe he got accepted as a newspaper comic drawer guy.

Newspaper sucks. Internet comics are the wave of the future.
I like boondocks, dilbert, foxtrot, sherman's lagoon, and luann though. A few others are alright, but I forget which.
