In my opinion, MTV should be about music, not all the bullshit on it now. That's why I used to like MTV2, until it became more of the same. I wouldn't bash MTV at all if it was about what it meant to be, but I utterly hate it when a company changes its gears entirely to cater to an audience it wasn't originally meant for, regardless of the subject material.

I would agree with you, but MTV's contribution to non kiddy animation can not be denied.

How do you figure that? The description just says "General discussion"; it doesn't make any clear limits to WHAT you can talk about, as long as you don't act like a dumbass like we all do in Fluff.
It's that type of thinking that makes General Discussion sit empty for months. =/

Bumpage due to my sadness from the new "season" of Celebrity Deathmatch... Oh wait, "MTV2's Celebrity Deathmatch."
I just saw how they butchered the character designs (Johnny Gomez does NOT have red hair!) and voices (I know the original series' voices were kinda lame, but those were intentional - there is no excuse for voices this awful). I just saw Nick Diamond with a really stupid breast implant that'll be gone next episode. Probably the only thing that's still entertaining is the fights...
Fight 1: Paris Hilton(victor) vs. Nicole Ritchie Fight 2: Bam Margera(victor) vs. Tony Hawk Fight 3: Bam Margera(victor) vs. Don Vito
Seriously, though... I miss the good old days. Now...
I hate MTV & MTV2. I'll probably keep watching this new "season," though, if only because I have nothing better to do.

Not once did I laugh at any of the shows that were previewed. The new Celebrity Deathmatch looks uglier, Where My Dogs At suffers from incredibly poor writing (Hey its "famous celebrity", insert lame joke here) and Chico and Gaupo seems to rely too much on fast-talking beaner humor Like most of MTVs shows, this will probably be cancelled in 2 months. Then again, morons love Wonder Showzen To be fair, MTV officially starting hating animation when they cancelled Clone High
