Do any of you ever get the feeling that some huge event just went by while you've been absent during that entire time, and you want to have your say in the matter but can't anymore, and even if you could, you don't even know what exactly to say about it in the first place, and if you did, aren't even certain wether or not what it is you have to say would do any sort of good anymore anyway?
...Yeah. Happy new year. I'll just go off and be confuzzled.
... No wait. I know what to say.
First off, after reading through, I'm glad to see that there's still some people that remember what makes this place tick. In the good way.
To others, I give a bit of helpful advice...
(And seriously, this is directed at more then just one or two people.)
Learn to shrug things off a bit more. Smile and nod.
Let people have their fun and enjoy themselves.
It's good to get your problems off your chest, but not everything that you disagree with has to be voiced out loud, and even if you do feel the need to exclaim your distaste or even disgust, little good comes from dragging it out too much.
On the flipside, if someone DOES need to state his or her opinion about something you happen to disagree with, try to look at it a bit more from said person's standpoint. Live with the fact that someone sees things differently then you do - you don't always have to see eye-to-eye with everyone about everything.
I'm not saying that this place turned into an angst filled rant fest or anything, but there HAS been an awful lot of friction in here lately, and I have a feeling that this is gonna cause some bad burns if we keep grinding at eachother too much.
Where's the community that was able to laugh at eachother's faults rather then point fingers and shout at them?
Now I'm not saying we should all play merry weather and act like nothing's wrong with anyone, and I'm pretty sure that asking this of you isn't as simple as just pulling a switch in your head that's gonna change the way you think about things, but... well, someone has to say something, y'know. Before we become -too- jaded.
This was something I needed to get off my chest badly, and have actually written out one or two times in my head, but never submitted as an actual post because I figured things would solve itself eventually.
Now after reading this over, I have that same feeling, that I might have touched one or two subjects I might not have wanted to at first...perhaps even shouldn't have.
But dammit, I spent too much time writing this to discard it as a "post that never was".
I'll just go ahead and submit this, consequences be damned.
