I'm getting a 360 as an early Christmas present tomorrow, and I will have $200 to spend on games and such. I've already pretty much picked out what I'm going to buy. But I want to hear your guy's opinions on the games I've chosen. Any suggestions on games to get instead of my initial picks (or later on in life) will be appreciated as well.
So since I have $200 that leaves me with 3 games at $60 a piece... I've boiled it down to: Gears of War Oblivion Saints Row
Any suggestions on games more worth my money? I'm still a little weary about saints row. I played the demo over at blazes for like, 6 hours, so I don't know if I will be sick of it or not. Either way I'm pretty sure it'd be an alright purchase.
That leaves me with $20 though. Should I spend it on platinum hit game (Most likely PGR3 if I were to do that) or should I buy some Marketplace Points?
I get paid in the beginning of January so I'll have 240 more dollars to spend on games and accessories, so suggestions on games to buy in the near dear future will be helpful.
Thanks.

My brother just checked out Viva Pinata from his store, so hopefully I can post a few impressions before he takes it back on Thursday. I heard it was a pretty good game.

My friend got sick of Saints Row after two days. Hardly worth $60.

Swap out Saints Row for Dead Rising - I've heard much better about the latter (That is, assuming you got a HDTV to play it on.)

Swap out Saints Row for Dead Rising - I've heard much better about the latter (That is, assuming you got a HDTV to play it on.) I always forget about dead rising... Then my bathroom reminds me. But nope, no HDTV. I plan on getting a VGA cable sometime soon though. Then I'll have me some super high 19" definition! Saints row still interests me though. If I swap it out for dead rising, I'll probably end up getting it anyway next month... Viva pinata is another one that peaked my interest, so I'll probably get that next time around. Next month looks like I'll be getting Viva Pinata, Saints row (Or dead rising...) a VGA cable, and maybe a year of live gold, and a extra controller, if I can squeeze few more bucks out of my dad.

Well, Forza 2 whenever it comes out is a no brainer.

Well, Forza 2 whenever it comes out is a no brainer. Yeah I want to get the racing wheel... but I wont unless it omes with forza 2.. Does anyone know if it will? Guitar hero 2, and lost planet are in my future as well.

Viva Pinata is pure crack. It is messed up and addictive. Stay the hell away from it. I'd make videos of it for you but thats not the kinda game that really is any fun to watch unless you've actually played it and thus know what the hell is going on. It'll be godlike if they eventually patch in co-op or something since they clearly dropped some form of interactive online play at the last minute. I'd warn you against Oblivion simply because the actual game sucks. The level up system is really bad and actually punishes you for starting a character off with talent in non-combat skills you actually use. (You'd level up too fast from non-combat related skills and find monsters have now scaled to your level. OOPS. You may be level 20 but your combat skills haven't progressed since level 10! Say hello to death for me! He really is a stand up guy.) PC version has mods to help reduce that though. But if you don't own Oblivion already I can guess thats because your PC can't run it.. So I suppose the 360 version might not be all bad. Just read up on the suckitude of the level up system to make sure you don't screw yourself over. The game has just about no balancing so thats where the PC version rocks. Mods can fix that. Saints Row is gr8 if you want to play online with southern hicks and gangstas and southern gangstas. Oops. That sums up all of Xbox Live. Saints Row is pretty kewl if you like GTA though. And the combat doesn't suck like GTA as you know. You actually aim and shoot instead of locking on. Also get Dead or Alive 4 if you like fighting games with shitty AI that cheats constantly. Very few games have pissed me off in the way that DOA4 has! It is the bane of mankind.

Kyoma is right about Oblivion, to a certain extent. If you have the PC for it, or expect to get a PC that can play it, get the PC version. There are mods upon mods that can fix many of the issues and add innumerable elements to the game.
The game isn't that bad, but it has some notable issues, that can only really be fixed through mods.

Where are you shopping? You can do much better than $60 apiece with just a bit of preparation. Might even be able to squeeze a fourth game out of that (or close).

Got it about an hour ago. I was going to toys r us, because they had a "Free $100 gift card with purchase of a 360" deal going on. But they were all out, ended up getting it at best buy with NFS Most wanted bundled in, Gears of war, and PGR3.
Ashuku V3 is my GT, I made it V3 because when I've heard of people having to re-make their GT when they tried to upgrade to gold after their initial free month.. So I figured if that happens I'll just leave Ashuku V2 open.
So yeah, add me.

You really should consider Condemned: Criminal Origins if you're into that sort of thing. Awesome game, and it's $30 too. You play as a really ugly investigator who gets framed for murder. Find the real murderer, deal with his descent into madness and whack drug addicts with anything you can find.
WHACK.
WHACK.
Mannequins scare me.

Okay, after 2 days of playing Viva Pinata, I can safely say that I agree with Kyoma that the game is addicting...and I miss playing it since my brother took it back to the store. I have so many ideas on how to spuce-up my garden(s) and to try to attract new animals. Though I or my brother may actually purchase the game soon as he really liked it also. The game really was a big surprise to me as I though it would a simple Harvest Moon/Animal Crossing/Pokemon cross for the 4-8 group. It's much more than that.

V3! ...I thought you said T3 on the message, I had so many variations on T's and 3's to get your new gamertag XD
But I just upgraded from my free trial to a year of gold with no problem whatsoever, first time I had ever heard of any problems actually.

Either way, I can change my gamertag for 800 points if I really dont like it at V3... which I dont really care.

A friend of mine bought his 360 today, and got Enchanted Arms with it. I sat through watching the first hour or so of gameplay, and have to warn you... The game itself is probably pretty nice, except for the fact that the beginning backstory is a TOTAL ripoff of Final Fantasy 6 (War of the Golems = War of the Magi?). Also... Makoto, one of the three leading characters is both VERY stereotypically and VERY openly homosexual. I'm talking limp-wristed, lisp-talking, boyfriend-gushingly gay.
But aside from that, it seemed like a fairly decent Final Fantasy clone with battles taking place on a Megaman Battle Network-esque 8x4 sized grid that houses each side's party on opposing sides.

Sounds alright... but I'm really not into those type of RPG's. I like action RPG's (Xmen Legends, Oblivion, Diablo, ECT) but I've never really been a big fan of turn based strategy games in general. my dad mentioned to me that my sister wants to buy me a game for Christmas, so before bed I was talking to her about Dead Rising. This was right before she was going to go shopping so hopefully she got me it .
