Yeah the purpose of all loot is to sell. Except for teleport stones... which would probably be better off in the usable items category. Otherwise loot is the main source of income in this. Also if it hasn't been mentioned, selling lots of loot is the key to getting some really spiffy items in the bazaar. I'm a little ticked off about the Zodiac Spear requirements, but thankfully I happened to stumble onto the info kind of early so restarting my game wasn't too much of a time loss. Another note: maybe its just me but Vaan seems to have very little to do with this game storyline wise.

Zodiac Spear requirements? What's this all about?

Look on GameFAQs. They have a list.

Ah! Well I guess it is too late for me to get the Zodiac Spear since I'm pretty sure, I screwed up. Meh, no big loss--but those were some very idiotic requirements.

Its still possible to get it in a different spot... you just have a 1/1000 chance.

Oh I have a question, about the hunts.
Do I have to accept them as soon as I see them on the Sandsea board, or can I just continue with the game ignoring them until I'm feel that I'm ready to take them on--without worring they would be gone from the board by Matsuno know's what far into the game?

I've been taking them as they turn up, but I'm pretty sure you can put them off until later.

Okay, what's Fulminating Darkness on the License Board? I just grind and I have enough points to get it, but it said only one person on the board can learn it.

Having watched my friend play this game for a few hours the other day, I believe Fulminating Darkness was one of Basch's Quickenings. I didn't play the game for myself, but the "few hours" were actually about five, and I enjoyed watching every second of it. It essentially looked like XI but single-player and faster, so that made me feel all warm and cuddly inside. I can't remember the names of the areas he was at, but it was spoiler, followed by spoiler, followed by spoiler. Since the soundtrack was easier for me to get a hold of than the game, I've been listening to that a heck of a lot in the last month, and I'm highly impressed. Nobuo tends to make soundtracks that have a small number of major fantastic pieces, and a few stinkers scattered everywhere else. Here, on the other hand, Hitoshi seems to have done nothing absolutely extravagant, but the level of quality stays intact throughout the entire OST instead of leaping and dipping like usual FF fare. Oh, and the orchestral remake of Clash on the Big Bridge made me wet my pants.

I know once I get to hear that song in the game, I will be pumped. Clash on the Big Bridge is one of the best tunes in the whole series.

Okay, I got the game last night and haven't been able to put it down so far.
Despite the fact that I'm more of an action-RPG fan, I'm liking the battle system. My only problem is that it seems hard to run away from battles...

Did you turn off the Gambits of your other characters? It makes it a bit easier to run away.

Yeah, the game told me about that once I got Balthier and Fran.
The battle system is starting to get a little overwhelming with those blue lines flying all over the place.

Copypasta from my other post on another board.

Y'know, I really have mixed feelings about the Gambit system.
On one hand, it keeps battles going along smoothly but on the other hand you're really not doing much in battle--you're sort of just watching the battle go by. Again I guess it's because I'm a Action-RPG fan...
I have a feeling I'm going to have to get used to it though. I do like the ability to access the party menu and all during battle...
