So I've been playing this recently translated game just now, and I liked it enough to tell you guys about it. =P "Guardian of Paradise is a fun little Zelda-ish game by Buster, who you may know as having created Akuji the Demon. GoP casts you as Tela, a boy whose sister has fallen ill. Nobody knows what's wrong with her, so there seems to be no cure, but legends tell of healing waters in Paradise, so Tela sets out to find the fabled land and save his sister. He encounters elemental spirits along the way, which provide magic, and the basis for the game's puzzle system." agtp.romhack.net/rakuga.htmlReally well-made game, here. I advise you all to give it a shot. It's kinda linear, and not nearly as lengthy as your average Zelda adventure, but it's a solid and really good game for the five or so hours it'll take you to finish it. Well animated, well thought-out puzzles that incorporate all five different elemental spirits (Wood, Water, Wind, Darkness and Fire) and the way how you switch between them and use their powers.

I finished it without dieing once, but just cause it's not hard doesn't mean it's not good

Huh, looks like I already downloaded this, but forgot to try it. Guess I need to give it a shot.

This game is full of awesome.
Well, except the part about Tela's walking speed being equivalent to a snail. But besides that, it's great.

The walking speed didn't bother me much until I actually obtained the Darkness spirit (whose first ability is a dash, for those not in the know). =P

It's actually not bothering me. It's just you noted how the game is about five hours, and yet it took me one and a half to actually get the Forest spirit, so I'm sure it's gonna be a longer than five hour trip.
Either that or my PC is slowing the game down and nobody else is having that problem.

This reminds me that I should've finished Akuji the Demon.
And tried Cave Story.
And... er.. hm.

...
YOU NEVER TRIED CAVE STORY?
Seriously, Blaze. You aren't allowed to internets anymore until you play it. Now, young man!

Tsk tsk.
As for Guardian, I'm already stuck, oddly. It keeps telling me to "check the bushes" for these critters, and... not finding a way. There are the things I can cut down with my sword, and what look like little bushes, but I can't "check" them, or do anything with both my sword and spirit, AFAIK. Can't push them either, it seems. Missing something? Or is it totally random, walk-between-screens thwack the cuttable bushes until it decided to give me all four? (I don't think it is.)
Edit: Nevermind. I'd tried something earlier that was correct, but didn't know you could move away from where you were using the spirit powers. BACK TO ADVENTURE.

Myeah, you just need to head left from the place where the collectors are. I overlooked that one for a little while as well. And they're not random - you really have to look in the right places (and defeat a boss for the 4th and last one).

No, I'm pretty sure I have to go on the downward path, past the double-plated switch and continue from there. (I need a key.) Think I'm good, now, I just stopped playing once I figured it out.

Ah, I mean I was referring on where to find the Skitter scarabs. 'Cause those are in the cuttable bushes in the forest past the two-house collector village. Any other bushes besides cuttables are just background/obstacle.

Yeah, I got all those now, but good to know. I thought those might be burnable later or something. (Past the first emblem, stopped for the night.)
Nice little clone, though. A little straightforward, but so was Four Sword Adventures, and I enjoyed that quite a bit.

Yeah, the hint mints have a weird way of talking. But they're helpful, at least.

Er, how the heck do you assign controller controls to this game? I remember Akuji the Demon being controller compatible and I'm not really fond of using the keyboard for many games like this.
