It was definitely different in the SNES version. Turns tend to come up faster now, and the gap between fast characters and slow characters is a lot bigger than it used to be. You'll often see the faster characters getting multiple turns in before the slower ones.

And Leo, someday you're going to want to play a DS game, then you'll have wished you had purchased one. I'm not going to pay an additional $70 for the possibility of playing DS games in the future. That'll buy me at least two GBA games. Bottom line: I don't like investing in potential enjoyment. The Micro is a cheap system with a big library of good games. The DS can wait for 2008. =P Leo, I have three questions. Lay it on me. 1) How is the screen on the micro? Can you really see the fine details like people claimed they did? Yeah, it's amazingly crisp. You really don't realize how easy it is to see things until you actually start playing it. The screen is roughly comparable in size to an old iPod screen, and I have no problem at all reading the tiny text in FFIV. Also, it's really well lit. 2) What design of micro did you get? Silver. Came with Orange and Camouflage face plates, and I've got the orange one swapped in now. 3) Have you experienced any slowdown or sluggish controls on the battle menu in FFIV? None. I was actually worried about this when I read reviews, but so far everything is running as smooth as it did on the SNES. The ATB has definitely changed the speed of the battles, though.

I really can't see buying a GBA when the DS is only $50 more, and plays a lot more games. But then again, the GBA vastly outsold the DS last month, so people obviously like the $99 price more. There was a sale on because it was Boxing Week, so the prices were: Micro = $80, DS = $150 That's a hell of a leap in price, considering the fact that I bought this system to play GBA games.

But seriously, what the hell would you do with The William Harrison Show? The first episode would be the pilot and the second would be the finale, I guess. Frankly, I'd like to see John Quincy Adams in "Just Quincin' It"
