And I mean big spoilers. I'm only on dungeon 7 but I've seen the ending already and know what happens with the plot.
I'm mostly regarding the plot complaints. Those bother me the most.
IT'S NOT FRESH ENOUGH AND GANONDORF WAS THROWN IN FOR THE SAKE OF BEING THERE. AND IT FEELS SO MUCH LIKE A MIDNA GAME BUT YOU PLAY AS LINK.
Those complaints, mainly.
IF YOU DIDN'T TURN BACK YET TURN BACK NOW OKAY DUDES
Anyway, like. The whole point of the game was to feel like Link was unimportant and Ganondorf seemed like he was supposed to be out of place. Before I got the game, I was all "this makes no sense how can there be a Link in between OoT/MM and WW when Wind Waker's whole story was based on the fact that a hero never came around to beat Ganondorf! I suppose it could fit that there was a Link inbetween who got somehow unexplained but this seems plothole filled." This was before I found out that Link to the Past was supposed to be after OoT, too. I haven't played LTTP though so, um, I can't account for that. But here is my opinion on Twilight Princess fitting into this crap!
It makes perfect sense that there was no account of the TP Link existing because no one was aware there was any trouble at all. As a Goron says at the top of that observation tower, the silly barrier of death around Hyrule Castle was a "secret to everyone". No one was even aware they were CONSUMED BY TWILIGHT. The only thing they noticed was that Zelda hadn't shown her face. Those dudes in the bar going all "WE MUST SAVE HYRULE!!!!!!!" were probably all thought of as just nutjobs. Everyone felt there was something wrong, but no one actually noticed any immediate danger, whereas OoT's events were clear and everyone was aware of Link being the hero who saved everyone's ass. In this, Link garnered no real attention. So no one would really, like, remember this enough that it'd carry down to Wind Waker, where even the legend of OoT was pretty forgotten.
And Ganondorf, I felt, didn't feel "randomly thrown in". It's pretty much explained that the sages were all "omg we're gonna execute Ganondorf for being a bad man" and Ganondorf was all "NO WAY I AM THE POWERFULEST POWER MAN EVER" and killed a sage, they were all "oh crap we can't kill him we gotta throw him where the gods put those shitty magicians that one time" and then he justs sits around all "". Then he finds out about Zant, who is all "GRR I AM SUPPOSED TO BE KING. AND I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO BE KIIIIING" and was all "hi dude here's some power go take over and let me get out of here". That doesn't feel randomly thrown in. Well, maybe they put him in for the sake of putting him in, but they put some thought into his placement in the story. That doesn't feel "thrown in". The basic explanation of what they did to him was put in way before you see him in person, anyway, so I don't feel like it was an afterthought.
Besides...Ganondorf is the embodiment of power. With everyone going all "WE NEED A NEW VILLAIN IN ZELDA LOL" I am annoyed because Ganondorf is...the King of Evil. It would be stupid to have some "Link and Ganondorf team up to fight a greater evil" because nothing can be more evil than Ganondorf. That's how it works. IF YOU ASK ME.
And I fail to see how it is more Midna's story than Link's. She has had a decent effect on the story, I'll definitely say, and she is definitely a major character, but you are...Link. The story is about him doing shit for an imp thing who rides on his back and wears a funny hat, not about the imp thing asking some kid to do shit for him while she rides on his back and wears a funny hat.
Any other complaint about TP is fair, but the story is decent. Not the best story ever but the complaints I addressed seem ridiculous.
Also EVAN HATE MALO MART MUSIC. ooh la la ooh la la ooh la la la la la la la
