Now they're in SPACE in Japan's version, Romeo X Juliet! www.romejuli.jp/I await Hamlet with giant robots.

Not quite. They're actually on a floating city in the clouds in this version, called "Neo-Verona".

Still futuristic, so it counts.

Floating cities aren't exactly futuristic.

I was about to comment on the use of X for "and", but then I realized that actually makes sense here.
But still, Japan seems to have an ampersand shortage.

Also, is it just me, or does the logo on Juliet's side look like a girl landing after jumping up high and in the process barely avoiding a panty shot?

I await Hamlet with giant robots. See, Kyon's voice actor needs something to do after the whole "Kanon" and "Haruhi Season 2" thing, no? Who else can deliver soliloquies with the sarcasm of Hamlet? This would be an awesome series. Now accepting casting applications~

Well, at least the Juliet girl looks attractive.
Too bad she'll most certainly die, in a manner perhaps even more emo than the original Shakespeare version, to fit with the times (And anime trends. In fact, let's have it so in this anime Romeo and Juliet, their deaths cause a friggin' nuclear apocolapse and kill everyone.)

So, is Romeo going to still be a 20-year-old man who meets some random 13-year-old girl at a party, marries her the next day, kills her beloved cousin immediately afterward, fucks her, leaves town, comes back, and kills himself in her tomb?

The girl will be 13, because it's anime. (actually, this is probably wrong. She looks older from the picture. In most series that face would be at least 30!) The guy will be no older than 15, because it's anime.
