I am atheist I will not make a big fuss about people celebrating some holiday. But I will if they try to force it on me. THEY TURNED GREENSLEEVES INTO A CHRISTMAS SONG. THIS ANGERS ME!

I know someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas and she's a Christian.
Her explanation made sense actually.

You don't have to be a Christian to celebrate Christmas You just don't do the whole religious part of it.

I'm thinking of making a cake. A 'HB Jesus' cake =D.
I'm not religious, but hey, he was an awesome dude.
I need to make a list of awesome dudes and bake cakes in their honor. Like Einstein.

in this week's Battle Pope Santa, whose life had, until around the Rapture, been very (almost excessively) similar to the Pope's. Generally stole and acted like an ass until he met Battle Pope's sidekick Jesus Christ. Jesus meanwhile was out-of-character super-pissed that Santa stole his birthday and everybody always gave him one present and was too busy with the comercialization. Meanwhile, The Pope, had many vigorous rounds of sex with Jesus's visiting mother, The Virgin Mary. The Virgin Mary, considered the pope to be "eh" but hey, you gotta consider who she's been with. This really upset The Pope. By the end of the issue, Pope broke up a fight between Jesus and Santa and Jesus forgave Santa who moved in with the Pope and they all threw Jesus a birthday party. The Virgin Mary,

I ought to just say that Christmas has way too much secular backing to be thought of as purely a religious deal like say "Advent" or something. (I personally was born Christian but have shifted to agnostic myself.) For example, it's extremely popular in Japan, and really almost none of them are actually Christian. (They seem to just sort of pick and choose random religious elements a lot of the time?) Yes, Christmas has religious roots, even in its name, but really -- it's been expanded into one part marketing gimic, and one part just general "feel good and do nice stuff." Seriously, of all calendar marked, federally-supported holidays, Christmas actually has a lot of positive feeling associated with it. It speaks of miracles, magic, and general acts of goodwill, whether looking at it secularly or religiously. It doesn't bind itself up tightly in uncomfortable facts like Valentine's Day (HAVE A SIGNIFICANT OTHER OR YOU SUCK) or Halloween (evil lurks... let's go egg a house) or St. Patrick's Day (drink muchly, please.) And while some other holidays tend to have cook-outs or other fun stuff, they generally are for a single day. Christmas actually pretty much takes over after Thanksgiving, and sets up a few weeks where in between rampant "required" shopping that some people feel needs to be done, actually mostly encourages people for one time out of the year to generally be nicer. I think most of that comes from the subtlety of the other promotions, TV, specialized radio songs, etc. It just evokes a general aura of positive energy for the general populous. You don't have to be religious to enjoy Christmas... just take it as a time when humanity finally decides to get together a bit more, add a few more friendly hello's and goodbye's, and, hey, even make them think of others for once either by donations or getting a little something for a friend/family member. I think everyone needs a little Christmas just to deal with the rest of the year.

Christmas was only covered in the novels and referenced to in the show's ending credits. That being said, I lack the art skillz to make one from some of the few sources (I think that they're from magazines?) of seasonal Haruhi. Maybe if I find something later? bleh.
