Ok, I've tried to look myself, but I seem to be web-search disabled >.>
I am looking for a DVD Player program that will let me take image captures of the movies I'm playing. I have been using the program that game with Windows to watch DVDs on my computer, but when I try to take a screen shot from it, I just get a solid black image. I figure it's some sort of copy-right protection thing.
Anyway, so if anyone knows of a good DVD program for either Windows and/or Linux, I'd appreciate being pointed in that direction. The free-er the better ;D

As a temporary solution - I know sorta how to remedy the "Black Screen" thing that happens when you take a normal screenshot. Right-click an empty spot on your desktop, and hit "Properties". (Or go to your monitor settings under the Control Panel.) Go to the screen you use to adjust screen resolution and color depth. Hit the "Advanced" button (I'm not sure it's called that as I'm running a Dutch version of Windows - it's next to the "Troubleshooting" button, for reference sake), then go to the tab "Troubleshooting". Set Hardware Acceleration all the way to "None". This is not really a setting you'd want to keep, and I suggest setting it back the way it was once you're done screenshotting.

Or you can open the file in two media players at once. The acceleration only works in one. If it were in both, it'd get messy. Take the screencap on the second one.
Also, VLC is nice.

I downloaded them both and they both seem to work just fine. I can heartily recommend either XD
Thanks much^^
