Wrong, Beanie-Weenie-san. He's the king of... a really crappy castle where walking down stairs requires one to use the 'stairs' action. It's quite mad.

At least the BK King just sneaks into your bed at night instead of chewing your ear off.
He gives that chosen warrior crap to everyone.
Even worse? Apparantly my warrior has been running around naked as a jaybird with no weapons. I got him a club and some clothes =( noone seems to treat him any better though.

XD except on a real NES the picture is slightly shorter. Bravo! And that's what I named myself -and- what I'm talking about. Level 5, bznatches! I AM NOT A NUDIST! Back in the old days I used to love this game. I played the thing until it could be played no more -- when you get exactly 65535 experience points. (That's the maximum value of a 16-bit number, by the way; kind of a silly, techy thing to end on ) At that point the king just yells at you for not having defeated the Dragon Lord yet instead of telling you how many experience points to the next level. All good fun. I don't think I've ever deticated so much time to an RPG ever again... except possibly SNES Mario RPG. I remember being fairly active in that game. But, yes, the "STAIRS" command. It's a funny, mostly useless thing. But hey, this had to be one of the first RPGs of this format.

It was '89, man, I can understand it being primitive enough to require a 'stairs' command, but it's still pretty funny. Why does he start with no clothes D=? Does the king normally send knights out to save his daughter buck naked? I hate that woman in town who says she isn't the princess. Well, Goooolley~! Who the hell would think the object of your quest would be a few steps from the castle ? Who's that stupid?
