I hate Gwen Stefani and her stupid solo career. She goes from lead singer of a cool band to performing this horrible wigger rap. She's like Vanilla Ice only female
I hate Rob Thomas and his stupid solo career. He does a hit song with Carlos Santana and all of a sudden he thinks he can reproduce the Latin sound. I heard his song played every fucking week and it drove me nuts. Its like listening to a drowning cat overplayed with sappy lyrics
I hate most mainstream American music in general. Nothing is good anymore except for jazz. Whatever happened to actual talent?
I hate 4Kids for obvious reasons. Not only did they ruin my most favorite anime of all time (One Piece) but these morans refuse to acknowledge the demand for uncut releases. Not only that, but the company is runned by an obvious racist and pedophile
I hate the fact that country is runned by an idiot

Not only that, but the company is runned by an obvious racist and pedophile I knew about the pedophile thing, but racist? Where's this from? 4Kids president Al khan has spouted many quotes which pretty cinches that he is racist "Miyazaki movies don't do that well in America because they are too Japanese" "When we get through with dubbing the shows, kids don't even know it was from Japan" And there was this one episode of Ultimate Muscle (Kinnikuman Nisei) I remember seeing where the main character came out with statuttes of different Gods glued to his body. They had kanji written on them as well. In the dub, he says "I placed ninja guys with funny writing over my body!" I will dance and sing when this company goes under

Edit: Also, as much as I like the genre itself, I find it a bit disturbing when jazz is considered the "best" genre out there. I always get the feeling that the statement was made not because of the writers' extensive knowledge and experience with all other genres (this is in no way a jab at your own experience and/or a glorification of mine - my experience is quite limited, actually), but because jazz is seems to be a higher form of music to them for whatever reason. Maybe it's because of its complexity and intricacy and/or its underrepresentation in today's society. Honestly, this was my conception for a while. In any case, it must be said that other genres can be as complex or even moreso as jazz and that jazz shouldn't necessarily be a standard to compare other genres, as great as it is (though that is subjective, no?). Just recently I read an article in a bass magazine saying that the chord changes in pop can be as hard/complex as that in jazz. Also consider country and bluegrass. Most of the bass lines in country involve repeating root/fifth patterns. I haven't played in a country band before, but from my experience alone, I can tell that sort of gig would require a lot of focus and patience. If that ain't talent, I don't know what is. In addition, having played in an orchestra for a few years, I can also vouch for orchestral genres. You have everything to play written out in front of you in intricate detail and you essentially have to stick to it, follow your peers, and follow your conductor. That stuff is hard, man. I guess the idea of talent in a genre is overshadowed by the what you'd typically see in that genre, at least for me. As said before, pop can require a lot of talent to play in, but we see a lot of scantily clad females strutting around the stage acting all whorish from that genre. That probably degrades the image of pop, right? Perhaps that's when the "talent" is also degraded. In reality, I bet composing, producing, and playing that music is quite hard. So yeah. Ham sandwich.

I knew about the pedophile thing, but racist? Where's this from? 4Kids president Al khan has spouted many quotes which pretty cinches that he is racist "Miyazaki movies don't do that well in America because they are too Japanese" "When we get through with dubbing the shows, kids don't even know it was from Japan" Well, let's put that into perspective first. Some things that come out of Japan are very immersed in the eastern culture and mythology. The fact is that some things are untranslatable without severe explanation if they make a lot of hints towards what little Japanese kids may hear as equivalent fairy tales, for example. That may make some things appear completely otherworldly to a typical, non-diversified American and they feel awkward just watching the stuff. Other things that don't translate well include jokes that "you'd have to live your daily life in Japan" to understand. Furthermore, the current generation of families are still holding onto old predefined Christian Church based "morality" codes, which have been in this country since it's conception and taking a long time to die off. That basically means that no show that might be viewed by young children is allowed to be even hinting at facts of life such as sex. The president of a company that's going to largely market anime for the US children's market is going to have to make things "un-Japanese'd" for his own bottom line. That's just a fact of life. "Uncut" DVDs that reinsert scenes of things like a sexual joke (nothing explicit, even) could appear to ignorant American parents to be like the company dliberately "sexified" a show to make it immoral and maybe even flag a boycott. So I wouldn't be too quick to blame the president of a company doing the kid's market for that. Personally, I think most anime should be kept off the air so that it's allowed to breed in its natural state, unless someone is finally able to make a TV channel which is not so age restrictive. OR we just keep shows that were generally "cute and safe" to begin with on at the earlier times and keep the things that would "need" butchering on during the later times when TV typically gets more lax for content.

Actually Rob [or Bob?] Funimation is supposedly making an all-anime channel. Supposedly.
But still, Cartoon Network is already doing that. They air dub Naruto at 9PM Saturdays with some edits to be safe [they say death and kill and all that.]. Still, it's not horribly butchered 4Kids style. Zatch Bell, I don't know what's up with the "radioactive gun" deal. That Bobobobo-bobobo or whatever... no comment. There's Adult Swim which usually is light on edits [or sometimes none at all] and airs the darker stuff. Then there's... Anime Unleashed on... G4 [oi]. Since no one ever watches G4 in the first place, it seems like they can get away with more [they showed a naked Quon from the behind during their run of RahXephon.]
...hmm. *ramble*

Don't you remember what they did to that one black guy in One Piece? I don't know if he was an extra or something...but I saw comparative screenshots. IIRC that was done because the black guy in question was a blatantly stereotypical depiction, and they were trying to make their version less racist. Of course, I could be thinking of something else.

Apparently edits of Tom & Jerry did this too. At least with One Piece they could possibly get away with it because only anime fans who grabbed subs will really notice the change, whereas Tom & Jerry is a cartoon that's been with us for yonks. Hmm...
