I dunno, I always found Daisy cuter then Peach. Maybe it's the fact she ain't blond and so doesn't end up looking like a babie doll. And she was hot in Mario Tennis, in those hot pants.
...You heard nothing.

Not sure I like Daisy's voice, but I like what she represents in the Mario games a bit... it was something Peach _started_ to become (see Melee and such), but I honestly think Miyamoto or someone else pitched a fit (some of them seem to hold VERY old ideas about the place of women in these stories sometimes, a lady is usually a princess waiting to be saved, and so forth. Samus is the exception, and Tetra started out as one, but there was a "transformation" sequence, and then she becomes the nigh-helpless damsel in distress for the last part of the game), and so after they started bringing Daisy in as a Peach clone in Mario Golf and Mario Party, they made a compromise and turned Daisy into the more adventuresome, energetic one, while Peach got pushed back a bit, lost her more detailed costume to that "saddle" look, and has wavered between passable and completely ditzy or fainty. (Some of her losing comments in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour for the GCN just made me gag.)
I'm not quite sure what they're going to do about the new SSB, but Nintendo might push HAL to change her style to something... well, I don't think we'll be getting bloomers shots and hip bombs again, to put it mildly. She'll probably be more hands-off, using a parasol or something to thwack people like in Super Princess Peach for the DS.
I completely lose the point of Fluff sometimes. *sob* But SSBM was a bit of a taste of, "What would Nintendo's properties be like if someone other than Nintendo was headlining them?" (I know they collaborated with HAL to a large degree, but be honest, how much does it represent anything else Nintendo's made this generation? Pikmin 2, maybe?) And I _liked_ it. What happened afterward (Link is a badly-modeled cel-shaded kid! Fox gets a shaggy redesign and slowed down! Mario looks like his N64 incarnation with short sleeves!) got to be depressing.

If HAL got to handle a lot of those properties, good things would have happened. SSBM was very nice in terms of character concepts and especially the looks of the characters.

You thin Daisy's voice is worse than Peach's current voice?
