...they can't even make half decent flash games to promote it: SONIC THE HEDGEHOG CHAOS CRUSH... It's Breakout. Not even a decent Breakout, but a sluggish, glitchy, slow as hell breakout. Sometimes the ball flies clean through the 'emeralds'. Holy sweet mother of Jesus.

Slow? We definitely don't have the same definition of slow. To me that ball was fast as hell.

You can't have played many Breakout clones, then. Try Arkanoid, it's a least ten times faster than this.

It depends upon if the bumper is moving when the ball hits it or not. If it isn't, the ball remains slow as hell. If it's moving, it MIGHT increase speed, but being the bumper is always really farkin' slow... bleh.
Is crud =(.

I dunno, besides the slowness, it seems alright. Still.. it's pretty stupid. Although, I like the themed power ups.
You know, some fan should make a Sonic Breakout, only do it well.

Anyone check the credits? It was programmed by one person. Not that that comes as any surprise, or anything...

What's worse is we get Breakout, Columns and awful platformers (the one at the Shadow the Hedgehog minisite and the "demo" of Sonic 1 for SMC+) as these stupid flash games when other sites get decent and functional Sonic style games, like that stupid health food thing and Ultimate Flash Sonic. Sega's just too cheap to get people to make DECENT flash games. So instead we get vaguely functional ripoffs of 15-20 year old games.

Heh, I made a Breakout clone. In Multimedia Fusion. Four years ago. ...yeah, I was a bit late, too! But at least I did a better job than this! Even had powerups like Arkanoid. Arkanoid is the best Breakout clone ever kthnxbye.

Hey, this isn't that terrible. It's just a random little flash game to pad out their stuff and promote the game. Nothing magical, and it can be a bit slow-paced, but it worked OK for me.

I miss when Sega had better promotional web games like that Shockwave version of the 3D Blast bonus stage. Also this game would have been better if it involved using Sonic's spinning head.

Or sonic as the ball ala Sonic Spinball. Then it would of been acceptable.

I wonder how much of their back resource sprites marketing and such are allowed to use? Like if they had just slapped a Spinball sprite in there, would there have been problems from management or some other part of Sega?
