Ok, this deserved a topic of its own.
I finally got time, and played up through after the second temple... and right before the Third.
And I have to say, I'm more than impressed. This game is definatley shaping up the more I play it into something bigger than anything that's come before it. Gamecube game be damned, the art direction on this thing more than makes up for everything.
The textures are well placed enough, and the games art and style are top notch. The combat is insanely well placed and executed... in fact, the Wii makes it better. While the slashing has become second nature(and is starting to grow on me from "This is kinda alright" to "Fuck controllers... I want my Wiimote."), the Bow is perfect on the Wii. I've usually had trouble with the bow on a lot of other Zelda games, but this makes all forgiven.
The bow is sometimes my weapon of choice. I love it. And Bomb Arrows? Oh yes... so satisfying.
It's kickass playing as a wolf. You're fast, you can find Rupees and hearts a bit easier thanks to digging, and you're special attack is REALLY fun to use.
Downside? A few. The main wolf quest has you tracking down bugs, and killing them for items to revive certain things(I'm being vague as to not spoil anything.) Honestly, combat is EXTREMELY fun, but, tracking these things down is hard. Their small, and very easy to lose track off. It's not that much of a downside, but just a bit of one.
Secondly, aereal enemies. Hard as is, not made easier with no bow and way to jump high enough. But that's kind of intended... being a wolf isn't actually you're choice so far in. But none the less, the sections are fun... then again, I'd rather use my bow to own a few more soldiers.
So far, this game Is easily starting to ramp up in addictiveness. This definatley was a smart purchase, and worth the hours in line for a Wii. This game is just plain epic, and an example of how video games really can become... art.
I'm gonna go play some more, then go off to bed.
I'll post more impressions periodically.
