Is freaking awesome! Seriously, who else has tried it. The Killer mode is the best, in my opinion.

Red Steel was not one of the games I got for the Wii, and this is the first good thing I've heard of it. Can you elaborate?

Is it splitscreen or lan? I would think that splitscreen with two wiimotes would be annoying in one room

It's splitscreen, unfortunately. Yeah, LAN would make total sense given the console has wireless connectivity built right in, but I don't think Nintendo had things ready on the software side of it. Which is annoying, considering many of the other things about it they haven't had ready.

Online related software won't be in production 'till past December, remember? ;p

I remember, but LAN isn't online. The consoles can wirelessly speak to eachother and DSes in addition to going online.

I'm disliking red Steel a lot unfortunatley. The control is horrendous for me. I'll try it again, but so far, it's not looking to bright.

Red Steel has hideous Wiimote detection. That is its major flaw.

ELABORATION!
I hated Red Steel at first too. But you get used to the controls and it's a helluva lot more fun, now.
Anyway, on multiplayer.
It is, indeed, splitscreen. But this in no way affects the detection of the Wiimotes. The Wii treats each screen like a tiny TV and your cursor only works on your screen. It's just as if you were playing with a normal controller.
Killer mode: At the beginning of each round each player's Wiimote makes a ringing sound and you have to press 2 to answer it. You then hold it up to your ear (a la a telephone) and a woman's voice tells you an objective to carry out that only you know, which is why they do it via the Wiimote. I think it's absolutely brilliant and can result in a very fun time.
Example: My Wiimote might tell me that I need to kill the Yakuza player. My friend's Wiimote tells him the same thing. Another friend, who is the Yakuza, is ordered to just survive the round. Here's the twist. The last friend's Wiimote orders him to protect the Yakuza. So, it's like this all out brawl and no one knows who's doing what. It's awesome! I truly recommend this game to any Wii owner.

Going to need a big tv then for 4 player fun, it does indeed sound fun though and adds a new twist to deathmatch when only you know the objective. oh how I miss the vmu...
*ring ring* Neo, its time.
