I guess I should change my post to say, "Probably locally only", since I dont actually know.
I remember hearing that it would act as an access point too though.

I hope that they release that ethernet kit soon. The Man says that we aren't to be sending out wifi signals here in the dorms (penalties start at cutting off your internets for 30 days~). I don't have a Wii yet, but when I get one, I'd like to be able to go online, you know?

The manual says that the adaptor will come out in January.

That's good to hear. I wonder if the Wii will work with that software that the school forces us to use to get internet access. I hope so. Does anyone know anything about using online consoles at a college network?

Toneeeh! I need to fish your email out of my contacts. The Wii can send messages to computers and stuff.

If you have limited uni network problems like I do, stream the internet through the pc, your computer will have to be on to let your console go online but it should work no problem.

That would require a second ethernet card, would it not? I guess that means bring up a non-laptop, eh?
And does this streaming internets through a box have a name? I'd want to Google to see what parts I should get and everything.

Internet sharing, basicly. You install the 2nd lan card or usb to rj45 adaptor and tell windows to turn the pc into the host, its pretty simple and windows can do it in seconds through its built in setup.
