That happened with FF3/6j, too. The weirdest thing was the Terra/Tina thing of having blond hair in the art, but green hair in the game. Also, the Moogles had different colored antennae balls and such. Part of it was palette limitation, but I get the feeling some of it was just... I don't know. Mid-process design changes. Considering the games were released on the SNES, I think the hair color change has more to do with differentiate between characters than limited color palette.

that and Amano did the art. And we all know how much he likes to draw with watercolors =P

Also, between a DS remake of FFIII and FFV, I wish the Japanese fans on that poll chose FFV since the Job system is more advanced in that installment.
Though, a FFVI remake would have been the best.

So yeah playing the rom, and well I really cannot notice anything different from when I played it on FFA aside from a few translation issues and slightly different menu layouts. Also the small things likr portrats in conversation windows and a different translation. I fail to see any signs of improved graphics or anything. FFV is my favorite Final Fantasy though, so I'm going to try to finish this one. Plus I want to try out the new jobs.

Plus the load times don't make you want to kill yourself. People have complimented that since this is a level grinding-y one, you can get through basic fights rather fast by just holding the A button.

yeah you can... especially in the area around the wind shrine. Thats what I did in FFA since you could heal for free. Also: VBA Fastforward + Autofire A = awesome grinding.
