Wild western themed town? That's a new one. Link's expression is also rightfully a "'the hell is this?" in the seventh clip

The intro there TOTALLY gives off "Shadow of the Collossus but less realistic" vibes with the rock formations and the ancient ruins and these huge cliffs... and there's this sort of etheral music playing...

Even though it's sort of a recreation of what they did with Ocarina of Time's title screen/intro, which vastly predates Shadow of the Colossus?
Seriously, when did SotC get the copyright on "running around big fields and bridges on a horse"?

Shadow of the Collossus is the biggest and freshest example in most people's minds, mine included. I saw a couple of other people say the same thing. Just like no doubt the moment Link turns into a Wolf, people will say "Okami".
It's like they were saying on 1upyours (or was it Chatterbox videogame radio?), people will always compare X to the most popular Y, and in these two cases, Zelda is going to draw comparisons to SOTC and Okami regardless of what Ocarina of Time did first.
Maybe once they're released people will say, "Well, they're actually totally different." - but right now? Probably not.

Even so, it's Zelda. So while there's going to be the similarities I don't think people will criticize it solely based on that. Unless of course they're not Zelda fans to begin with.

I never said criticize. I said compare. To some people, seeing bits of Shadow of the Collossus in Zelda (in terms of the scale of the world) is a very, very good thing.

To tell you the truth, when I saw the intro movie, I was reminded more of Ocarina of Time than Shadow. Honestly, I was expecting the piano intro music to start up at any time. I can see where some might compare to Okami, but I didn't even think about it that way when I first saw it.

Oh yeah, the first thing I said to blaze, before even reading the thread was that it looks like SOTC. [19:51] Ashuku: twilight princess looks like Shadow of the colossus [19:51] Ashuku: in the title screen vid [19:52] Blaze: That's what I said!

I'm gonna be honest, I remember the quality looking a lot better months back. I dunno... maybe it's just me subconsciously saying that it's GREAT for GCN, but shitty for the wii.

Well, Pop can kiss my ass. I'm gonna be honest, I remember the quality looking a lot better months back. I dunno... maybe it's just me subconsciously saying that it's GREAT for GCN, but shitty for the wii. I think it looks leaps and bounds better, actually. The lighting is definitely better (when Link transforms into the wolf, dig the highlighting they have on him), plus - look at the footage of the Marketplace. Right before they announced TP's delay last year, they released another image of the marketplace in TP... Look at it! It's a foggy mess! Not only have they added a LOT more detail, but the fog is completely gone.

That shot looks so much better in motion, too.

Fpr some strange reason, Kingdom Hearts sprong a few times to mind when I saw the clip. Probably because the cloaked guy looking around and Link swinging his sword around at the end. For the rest it screams OOT to me.
