I need a program that can convert video files (AVI, DivX, XviD (XviD most importantly at the moment), MPEG.. ECT) into a DVD-readable format, or into a DVD iso (Or both... if it has to, Im not sure about this stuff)
So any programs that do this for me quick and effecently, would be great. Thanks.

Depends on how much you want on each disc vs your computer's processing power vs how quickly you want this all done...

Disc size shouldn't be a problem. The movie I'm downloading is about 1gb in it's XviD format... I have a 1.8ghz AMD Mobile Sempron. I just need a good program to do it, if its fast thats a bonus, but I wont mind converting a file overnight if I have to. I just want to watch superman returns on my TV, instead of my laptop screen

You don't have an S-Video/HDMI out on your laptop?
You can search for an easy to use program called ConvertXtoDVD, but it's not exactly free. That will convert almost anything to DVD files and then burn them with a simple menu for you. Not sure if there are any easy free tools that will convert that many formats out there.

Nope, no output besides to an external monitor. If its not free thats okay, I can always find a serial for it somewhere. Thanks.

This post is filled with admitted piracy and law-breaking. Neat.

._. People these days.
"Oh, it's okay! They're not losing money! I wouldn't have bought it anyway!" That philosophy disturbs me. We're all becoming commies.
...hmm, interesting.

I use Nero's DVD making program that comes bundled with their software. It converts just about any video file pretty quickly to whatever specs you want your DVD to be. You have pretty good control over quality and everything. Flashy menu creation galore as well!

I got that ConvertXtoDVD last night, with a serial and everything, and started converting it this morning.
