It's with great pleasure that I announce tssz|news service will resume again on Saturday, November 11th where it once was, at tssznews.com. I've bought all the equipment I need to get it done on my end (finally!) and, amid a full time job and freelancing, I have still managed to find the time to do it again!
The new site's not nearly going to be as intricate as the old site but I still intend to make it a rolling 24 hour service, just as I did before. This will be heavily RSS fueled, with pages in some blog form (think GamePolitics.com...Hell, Wordpress may even be used to generate the new site unless anyone here has ideas) and a return of weekly audio news. Instead of general Internet radio, however, Podcasts will be available via RSS and iTunes...with a new edition each Saturday to the end of this year, moving to each Friday in 2007. At some point I'll use the Podcast for things like live specials, editorial roundtables, interviews, etc etc. With luck, audio podcasting will become video podcasting later next year.
The short-term goal is to provide this community and the Sonic community in general a fully dedicated news service again, ready to go when something happens at a moment's notice. (That means fan games, fan developments, web sites, etc. get covered again!) The long-term goal is to provide the entire gaming community a more independent source for news, depth, and information over time; an alternative to IGN, Gamespy, 1UP, Gamespot, etc. I'm not sure how long this will take, but I know I've been cited more than once in high school and even collegiate essays--strange as that may be--so it can be done.
BUT....for this revival to have any success I need your help or the help of anyone you know who may be interested. Basically, I'm looking for 2 sets of help at the moment:
Correspondents. You'd either be writing news or editorials, or voicing stories / editorials for the Podcast. If you'd like to do the former, you need to be able to have a good nose for news and write well. If the latter, you need a mic and you need to be able to meet a midday Friday deadline.
Web Designers. If you know your way around Wordpress and could customize the look / interface of the site with the new, non-Arial undercase logo, that would be awesome! You'd prolly need to be available the next 2 weeks.
Throw me an E-Mail if you're interested, to tristanbresnen@gmail.com
I'd appreciate all the help I can get! I did it alone for the first couple years but it became a team effort in its prime and it was this community that helped it be what it was.
