I think the host is quietly dying, and I want to get my stuff backed up off of there ASAP. I need to figure out what the IP was of the site pre-switchover to the bank layout, since trying to FTP in to the domain name will just redirect me to the filler page currently in place.

Already tried that, but that's a start. Would the Internet Archive (archive.org) have it?

"Too lazy"? Do you know a method? That page won't help any, I'm afraid. At this point, no one will have it cached, so...

Someone's sure to have it, or know where I can find it. It's not exactly secret information.

That probably won't help at all, but for some strange reasons, MoogleMB.com's main page still works when I boot it with Firefox...

If there's any luck at all, it's because your system cached it (not Firefox). Try running "ping mooglemb.com" and see if you get something different than "64.74.223.6". (64.74.223.6 is the stupid Bank of America stuff that's useless to us,)

Can't say I didn't try. At least it was something... different.

Assuming my source's info is a bit out of date, as of 2006-05-16 MoogleMB.com's IP address was 64.74.223.4. SourceEdit: Now that I compare it to other results, it seems to be one number off, and also another ad page.

Another parker. Is it possible we're simply not allowed to access the site due to its issues?

This is starting to look more and more like the shut down without notice that's happened to me barely a week ago...

Well, I PAY for mine, so it's a different story... And I doubt they picked the very day my domain was to be renewed to close up shop. But it could've happened close to that day. I've called in, and a call system picks it up, but it won't transfer my call to anywhere. When it tries, the number's bad. Hence why I'm moving NOW that I've exhausted most options. I've even sent in a fax, final resort. It sent through, so maybe someone will actually respond. And if they're not shutting down, they've dropped the ball BADLY. I was a happy customer up until a week ago.

Unless you've switched hosts, it's entirely possible the day you signed up your account with the host was also the day you signed up the domain becaause of those hosting/domain deals that they always offer.
Also...why can't you just log in to your host? They should give you some nameservers that you can configure your domain to use, not some silly IP address.

If I could log in, that wouldn't be an issue. But the host's site doesn't have the functionality to point me in the right direction. So to log in, I have to contact the server that my account's on. I have to http into my Control Panel or FTP in, and either way, I need an address, which right now is just an IP. If I try using the domain to log in like normal, it'll redirect to that filler page's server, possibly making note of my password in the process. :P (Hey, I don't trust that sort of thing.) I need the IP to get to my server.
And my host seems to be unhelpful at the second, although I do need to check my e-mail, I didn't get to do that yesterday.

What's annoying is my bookmark for this place is actually www.mooglemb.com - so I'd assumed that the forum had been down for the last week!

Ku, I've looked around but the best I can find is a site that will give you a WHOIS history of MoogleMB.com for $15. Pretty much at Spazz's link: whois.domaintools.com/mooglemb.com (click on WHOIS history). If it's any consolation, the link seems to have the address of whoever has taken your DNS, you know, in case you every want to meet them face to face and of course invovle yourself in civil intercourse with them.
