So far the RPG-like games annouced for the system is
~~Fire Emblem
~~FF:Crystal Chronicles
~~er, and I guess Twilight Princess and Dragon Quest Swords if they count.
But where are the traditional RPGs? I think even Xbox 360 has a bigger list than Wii so far.

Of course, the Xbox 360 is also a whole year the Wii's senior. Give it time. RPGs come out for EVERY system anymore. Why is everyone panicing about the Wii's seemingly lack of RPGs, anyway? The Xbox 360's two major RPGs won't be out until Winter in Japan, and even though the PS3 is bound to get a Final Fantasy, there's nothing official yet. (And besides that, what IS it about RPGs that "Make or break" a system anyway?)

They don't make or break a system in Western countries, but they do in Japan. In Japan, the most popular genre of videogame is the RPG and they tend to buy more of those than from any other. It's quite different from the US, where action and sports games are more popular, although I still can't get why sports games are popular.

Wii developers are also worried about the abilities and limits of their consumers, and are hedging their bets at the moment on long games while they figure out the best way to implement controls that don't require stupid amounts of effort, but are still clever and deeper. (Well, that's what they're SUPPOSED to be shooting for, anyway.)
Really, look at how many games, even the "full" ones, are supplemented by minigames? Both Sega's Super Monkey Ball Banana Blast (launch-ish) and Sonic and the Secret Rings (2007) have such an addition, for example. And while minigames have always been a Monkey Ball staple, it's part of a trend this time.
But the RPGs will come once developers figure some things out and realize even the fat gamers won't have heart attacks after five minutes.

Okay then, the PS3 has two FF games on the way, Level 5's White Knight Story, an enhanced Oblivion port(which is also a launch title), a NIS title, a Shin Megami Tensei 4 on the way, and you know that there will be more since developers seem to love Sony's consoles. And that system is launching only 2 day before the Wii. Xbox 360 has more than two major RPG titles. The have Oblivion and FFXI Online which is already out, and PSU, Mass Effect, Trusty Bel--er Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Lost Oddessy, Culdecept 360 which are coming out soon. Well for me, it is one of my favorite genres. =) My favorite system per gen are usually the ones that carried the most RPGs I liked.

I'm getting pretty tired of Mini-game collections on the Wii already too, especially when I heard that Sonic and the Secret Rings would have a load too. About 50% of the games so far are Mini-game collections, even the Rayman and Bomberman game.
Of course, this is all to do with the developers having to get use to the software, so all these mini games are most likely to do with them testing out all the different kinds of movements the controller can do before jumping into more ambitious projects. Red Steel seems to be proving this, as many people that have played it have been slagging off it's flawed control system.
As for RPG’s, I couldn’t give a monkey’s myself, but they normally always take a little while to show up on a new console, I believe. I mean, only now we're seeing some proper RPG's on the 360. Would be nce Sega to port Phantay Star Universe over, though.

Strangely enough, there haven't been any Tales game announced for the PS3 yet...
...there is however a game named "Sword of Legendia"planned for the Wii. Of course, no one has no idea whether it's a spinoff of Tales of Legendia or what. The only thing that is known is that one of the characters look like an older/male version of Chloe.
Yeah, that's it from me.

According to IGN (blagh), there's an upcoming Camelot RPG, but, judging as that article was from February 2005 and by Matt Cassassamablablah and we haven't heard anything about it since, it's not real.

Especially since I don't think Camelot is doing anything but PC games now.

I thought I heard Camelot was going to back to consoles eventually, just after they get done with something else or something?

The system didn't really take off past its "gimmick minigame stage" until mid-2005. I predict the same thing will happen to Wii.

Super Mario 64 DS = Easy Mode * SM64 + OMG EXTRA STARS + Mediocre Multiplayer + Minigames You know it's true.

For some people, the minigames made the package.
But actually, I thought Super Mario 64 DS went a long ways toward making Super Mario 64... well... a Super Mario title. Stuff like the Super Mushroom, playable Luigi (along with their darling Yoshi and Wario, the former of which got the game recentered around him, confusingly), the Wing Cap seemed WAY more controllable and useable to me, et cetera. It needed some more time to simmer (glitches and such), and I can't figure out why the multiplayer took such a drastic nosedive between how it was shown at E3 as 64x4, and what we ended up with (for example, the shots show that there was area ALL around the castle, lots of different little elements, you didn't have to start as Yoshis, et cetera.) But I liked it more than the original production.
That MIPS door was just so silly, though. And why in the character select area? I think that hints at another cut feature.

...MIPS? Millions of Interger operations Per Second?
Although, I do suppose you are right, it was a good game. It did rather feel like SM64 repackaged, though.

Oh, hey, I always thought that the MIPS architecture acronym stood for something else.

Yeah, MIPS is a pun/joke.
In fact, it's under the "Culture" part of the Wikipedia entry:
