Kojima did say, when MGS4 was first unveiled, that the game would be totally doable on the 360 in terms of visual effects.

I hear that Sony will make you pay $1 for each downloadable demo.

That's not clear yet. But the same source also said that Sega issued a statement saying that they were NOT currently set to provide MD games as downloadable for the PS3, just that they were merely in talks with Sony about it. (So Sony picked Mega Drive and PC Engine as specific "examples" to imply they had the same things Nintendo had, short of Nintendo titles.)
Bartman: Actually, people were happier once the media was released and the games were playable by press. But the keynote was just confusing and went off on unclear tangents. Some argue, "Hey, it's a keynote, not a press conference, it was supposed to be him up there chattering about his ideas for the industry" but it was for a games convention, and it did sort of relate to the PS3 sometimes and offered up a couple of trailers, so it wasn't purely anything, just confusing and weak all around.
They ended on a new Afrika trailer STILL WITHOUT DESCRIBING WHAT IT WAS. Press have since nudged officials about it and figured out (safari, kind of non-game like Aquanaut's Holiday, I.E. "Look at the pretty things"), but that's an example of how Sony was functioning. The audience was questioning, "Where are you going with this, what's the point, what does this mean for your games, are you even talking about games right now, WILL you ever talk about games right now, do you have a surprise title to show?" and so on.
Also, there wasn't much clarification at first about the whole price drop/HDMI thing. The price drop was Japan-only so far (and they openly LIED about how the US reacted, how charming), and I'm still not clear whether core US PS3s will have the HDMI at first too, or at all. That might also be a Japan-only thing, it might not.
But that was just the keynote. The floor showing is supposedly quite decent. Although they picked their "showcase" pieces (where all the set pieces are designed around this specific area to dress it up) as Resistance (FPS in Japan, whoooo) and Warhawk (which was bumped back to summer of next year). Not quite clear on why they picked those.

I think Afrika is just going to be a realistic Pokemon Snap with better free roaming capatabilities.

Hm. This concerns me. The new Sonic Wi- er, Sonic and the Secret Rings trailer from TGS '06...
The logo is in Japanese.
The announcer talking about game features are in Japanese.
Sonic's subtitles are in Japanese.
Why does Sonic need subtitles? Because he's the english speaking 4KIDS Sonic. While his lines are still just the same ones they've been recycling for six months now, it does pose the question: Have they retired Japanese Sonic?
Has 4KIDS Sonic become the one, single, dominate voice of Sonic the hedgehog, World-wide?

...well, it's not the worst voice he's had ever.
I miss Ryan Drummond though.
Also, White Knight Story would probably impress me if flashy RPGs hadn't lost their effect on me three years ago.

Sonic's subtitles are in Japanese. The games usually feature Japanese subtitles along with english ones, so that's not a panic-feature. Though, this would put a definite crimp if they did decide to nix the JP voice acting. I just LOATHE Sonic in english x_o he causes me audio paaaain. Plus being they keep going from VA to VA is totally irritating... at least the JP stuff tends to be pretty consistant aside from Tails. Since this IS an all-region release, perhaps the JP version will be playable on US 360s. That is, assuming they wipe the JP voicing (if it's THERE) from the disc. Hmm.

Jeez, the Sonic VA isn't THAT bad. Drummond was a great fit, yeah, but this new guy doesn't make my ears hurt.
The only Sonic voice I've heard that was bad was Sonic CD's. And yes, I'm saying Jaleel White did a good voice.

All of them just irritate me =\ CD, SA and beyond. You can't say Shuffle doesn't set one's hair on edge... that, and Lumina addresses the player like they have some massive intelligence deficency...
