Hey guys, has anyone seen this show on Adult Swim? I just caught this last night and found it to be hilarious. It's about the comical everyday lives of a smart-alecky 6 year old, his family, friends, and just everything in between. The Funi dub seem to not exactly use the original script as the Japanese version as they hired Evan Dorkin to re-script it XD and I'm guessing the jokes are made more risque than the original, but it seems to work out fine. In fact, it's funnier than most of the shows that pass as comedy on the block. I do believe that last week was a test run for Adult Swim to pick up more episodes and I hope they do. www.adultswim.com/williams/shinchan/index.html

Yeah, the Catalan dub is pretty good and actually it's pretty popular, or it was two years or so ago. As for the risqué jokes... I'm not sure that would be part of the rewrite...

I've watched quite a few eps of it, and it's not too bad. I do fine some of the more risque jokes to come off as a little forced in the sense that they seem to be risque for the sake of being risque, and that the charcter of Shin Chan does seem to get a bit on my nerves after a while. Apparently the folks at Adult Swim had been really big into watching some old tapes of the Japanese version with English subtitles. Then when the dub that was shwon in the UK came along, they felt that it seemed to be geared too much at 5 year olds and didn't have the same spirit of the orginal. But since that company has now lost its rights to the show, Funimation got control of it and did the dub that is now shown. I wouldn't mind seeing a comparison between an episode of the original Japanese version with subtitles, the version that was shown in the UK, and the Adult Swim version

I was amused by an ep or two I watched, but the art style does drive me nuts, and it's a little too constantly rough at times.
