Has anyone else been having issues with the past 3-4 major releases of FireFox? I barely run any extensions and it's just been having problems hanging or rendering pages such as MySpace. I'm about to suck it up and just download IE7 and stop rediscovering the web.

I tend to follow the habit of not updating 90% of the programs on my PC what's the latest firefox version? I'm still running 1.0.1

I have 1.5.0.4, but 1.5.0.5 is out, now. Keeps bugging me to update at really inopportune times and when I'm free to update I always forget to click it.

I doubt the problem is Firefox, but rather the computer.
...well, actually, what version are you using? Some of them have some pretty bad memory leaks.

I haven't been having any problems other than ridiculous errors it makes where if I enter in, say, "p" to the address box, and all the websites starting with "p", like, say, Penny Arcade, come up as "http://penny-arcade.com" in the dropdown menu, but then when I click it it'll direct me to "p://penny.arcade.com".
All I have to do to get around it is to manually enter in the address, but it's kind of annoying.

I've been having major issues with Firefox lately as well, Epon. It's going so damn slow, and I only get up to 4 tabs at a time. I have a 2.8GHZ, 6 hundred 40 something MB of RAM. I shouldn't have this problem with a browser.

Noticed the MySpace problem too - it also has a problem on places like YTMND where it keeps trying to play sound before it has fully downloaded, meaning it only plays a snippet and that's it

I actually switched back to Firefox from Opera because I was having problems. It's all about what websites you go to, really. Luck of the draw.

IS, I'm running a slower processor, but I got a gig of memory pimped out in this beast. Reformatted about three months ago and I'm more anal-rentetive than Monk in a SanFran bath-house in the 80s when it comes to mal/spyware or any other bad stuff.

I'm on a three-year old laptop (almost four) that hasn't been reformatted in over a year, have a few extensions, and I'm not having any issues. Maybe since I'm on dialup, I don't notice other things slowing down... maybe I'll notice it in a couple weeks when I'm on 100 Mbps 'net.

Mine seems to have adblocked most flash material... Back when I was on firefox it did that to me too. I use opera now, it loads all the websites I go to pretty much 10 times faster than firefox did. Firefox was so bad before I switched to opera that the main forum I go to would longer than it did on dial up to load. I couldnt scroll to the bottom of a page because it would load in really slow segments. It took around 45 seconds to fully load a page, on that forum.

As previously mentioned, Opera is a good alternative. However, most (all?) of the people ACTUALLY having problems haven't posted their versions.
