So, I went to go play S3&K last night but when I turned my Genesis on, it didn't show the wonderful Sega logo... All it showed was two thick white bars, slowly moving down the screen accompanied by a horrible noise like, "ksshhhhh..." Does anyone know what happened to my baby?

I take it you've tried the old cartrige standby of blowing into the port on the cartrige and then into the port on the console?

Of course. That's like first rule in no-cart-worky-syndrome.

(On a side note: What game is that you're playing, Milo? The one with the redhaired dude walking along what looks like a castle wall in 1250 AD.)
Sadly, can't really help otherwise. Maybe wanna check if everything's plugged in right - sometimes the screen can warp a little if the console-to-TV cable (Antenna, SCART, RGB) got knocked out of the TV halfway. (or, in the case of RGB, if you accidentally plugged an audio plug in the video socket. )

Also, if it's an old model 1 Genesis, it's more than possible that the cart connectors (not sure of their names) are wearing down. Reposition your cart several times until it works.

My Genesis is practically dead as well... Now, except for Sonic 2 and Sonic 3D Blast, none of my games work.

I'm only having problems with my SF2 cart and a very little bit with my Mega CD. Other than that, everything is good with mine =D
Also Milo, have you check if the games work seperately or if any other games work for that matter?

Today, Imma try all my games and I'll ty it on a different TV as well. If that doesn't work I'll take it to EB's and see what they can do.
Off Topic: That's Time Lord for the NES in my sig. The soundtrack rocked.

You know, for some reason when I saw this topic I thought you had an actual human baby, which might have been dying.

You know, for some reason when I saw this topic I thought you had an actual human baby, which might have been dying. So did I, which gave rise to the thought of, "Why is he asking for Moogle Tech Support on a human child? I mean, I know they're complex, but damn, take him to a doctor or some shit". Then I realized it was silly for me to assume it was an actual child and clicked the topic for the truth =P Anyway, on to the solution. I had a similar problem with my S&K cart, and this is what I did: Get a bottle of rubbing alcohol and some Q-Tips (cotton swabs). Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol into a small container (or even the lid that comes with the bottle) Dip a q-tip in the alcohol. Proceed to rub and clean each 'plate' of metal in the cart's connector with the alcoholized Q-Tip. As it gets dirty, switch to a new Q-Tip, re-dipping it in the alcohol ofcourse. Repeat process to the cart connector inside the genesis itself. Just be a little careful not to get any cotton tearing off and getting stuck in the genesis. It's extremely easy to avoid as long as you watch for it. If you do get cotton in the genesis, simply use the hose attachment of a vaccum cleaner to suck it out. This fixed my problem in a hurry. Also, don't worry, alcohol evaporates pretty fast on contact with air

ZOMG it's Tenn.
My genesis stil works like it's brand freaking new. And it plays games that I thought were borken. Like my copy of TMNT: The Hyperspace Heist. Which I've had since I was five and failed to play on my previous two genesis consoles.
Matrixx still owes me a Genesis 1 console....
