... you've never played a fighting game until you've played one where the aim isn't to kill your opponent but to instead just look cooler than him. www.jeux-france.com/news10867_viewtiful-joe-psp-gc-en-images.htmlYay... Sprocket, Blue, Blue Jr., Joe and Alastor.... where's Silvia? Who cares. Yeah, Battle Carnival (Which is such a gay name, and I really mean the name is homosexual) is currently playable at the World Hobby Fair. Looks fun, but people who first heard about it wanted it to be a traditional fighter... it's not, in VJBC you have to get more V-Points than your opponent by using the various VFX powers that pop-up for you to collect to kill the various enemies. You only need to attack the other player to make him lose his powers. I'm wondering, are you guys actually interested in it? It looks to be awesome, but its prospect is not normal for a fighter.

I dunno, maybe it could work out. The way you describe it somehow makes me think of a Smash Bros. Coin Battle. While that's most likely the most overlooked game mode of them all, it's still rather enjoyable.
Besides - we got enough traditional fighters as it is, and Viewtiful Joe's cast isn't nearly large enough to fill up a decent list of fighters (unless they include some playable bosses from the earlier games - granted, that WOULD rock.)
Sounds like an interesting and overall rather original game concept to me, though I fear it's gonna get stale a tidbit quickly - it sure as hell won't be an evergreen like Smash Bros.

Considering Sprocket is a playable character, it won't entirely be impossible for bosses to be. However, I'm sure that they're going to introduce new characters just for this game.

Interesting... I want to play it before I say anything more.

PSP version doesn't have a set release. GCN version will be released in Japan sometime around September.

Yeah, Battle Carnival (Which is such a gay name, and I really mean the name is homosexual) Hey, I'm not going to yell at someone for calling something "gay". Hell, I do it all the time. But I rarely mean homosexual; I mean really stupid. And this name is really gay in that respect, but I think any self-respecting homosexual person would be insulted that anyone would try to associate such a stupid name with homosexuality.

And what exactly about the name "Battle Carnival" brings to your mind images of men fisting their penises into each other or women licking each other?

You people all hopefully know that the proper term for "gay" is supposed to mean "joyful", right?
I suspect this is why homosexual people got the name "gay" in the first place - as I RARELY see a disgruntled gay person (well, except when they're actually being discriminated against for their sexuality, but that's beside the point.)

Shut it, Homo-hog This game sounds...akward. Not much of a fighting game if you aren't actually "fighting".

What up, Homokun? ;D
And you ARE fighting - just not to KO eachother, moreso to show off. I'm guessing in a "It's not how many opponents you finish, it's how you finish 'em" fashion.

"LETS GO TO THE BATTLE CARNIVAL SO I CAN BE THE ULTIMATE MASTER OF DART FIGHTING!!! KEYAHAAAAAAAAAAAH RAP GO!"

Hell, Battle Carnival sounds like a fruity anime NAME.
... Hm. As long as it doesn't have anything to do with cards.
