From the SAGE Website:
It dosen't matter if you dislike SatAM or not, it's a fascinating chance to get to look at the inside of the Sonic bussiness world, learn some stuff about story telling and ask some interesting questions of the grand author! Have fun!
(Note: If you are rude to our guest, Smidge and I will hunt you down and casterate you. And don't think that you'll be immune if you live in the U.K. or somewhere like that, I'm going to europe this summer and I -WILL- find you! XD That is all.)
It seems we have a rare treat lined up for all you Sonic fans out there!
I'm not entire sure how, but PerfectChaosZero has been talking to Sonique from FUS, who apparently knows Ben Hurst. Somehow they worked together and Ben has agreed to make an appearance at this year's SAGE.
For those of you who may not know the name, Ben Hurst is probably best known among the Sonic community as one of the writers behind the popular Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon series (aka "SatAM", 1993), particularly the bulk of the second season. He was also a writer for the Sonic Underground cartoon series (1999). Even if you weren't a big fan of either of these shows, you may have enjoyed his writings while watching "The Real Ghostbusters" (1986) or "Tiny Toon Adventures" (1990).
Mr. Hurst has agreed to drop by our IRC chatroom on Sunday, July 3rd (Day 1) sometime between 5PM and 8PM US Pacific time (8PM to 11PM Eastern US time, or Monday July 4th 1AM to 4AM GMT) to hang out a bit and discuss whatever, answer some questions you might have, and maybe share some amusing anecdotes. But who knows exactly what might transpire? It's a rare opportunity to hear from someone in the business this directly, so don't miss it!
