So I got my new phone today, the VX9800 (aka. - The "V")... the thing's pretty flippin sweet, with all it's miniSD, mp3, video, and camera glory. But whilst browsing the GetItNow stuff, I've noticed that SegaMobile has FINALLY released Sonic 1 for Verizon phones. Now, I'm at an advantage because my phone opens up to a QWERTY keyboard dohicky with DPad sorta.... but the game's pretty damn accurate and good. It's a genesis port with MIDI's of the music (no SFX, sadly). But everything's there... the crisp sprites, paralex, etc. So if you wanna blow like 8 bucks and have Verizon, get it. I actually bought Sonic 1 for my cell ( verizon's SCH-a950) like two weeks ago, but yeah, the game has been available for awhile, and it only costed $3.49 for me. I've been meaning to take some pics. =P Watch out, it's pretty laggy sometimes, either Sonic won't move at all or he'll keep moving in one direction no matter what you do. It took me awhile to beat it. =/

If someone posts the JAR and JAD files I could put it on my phone for free.

I've actually been wanting to do that, but I haven't been able to figure out how to get into the phone's memory, which they probably made near-impossible on purpose. "XO"

Youch, if I thought Sonic looked microscopically small, Flicky looks dang near impossible.
I am so just sticking with the Doom RPG when I'm bored waiting for rides... I killed Infernis teh YEYS.

See, if you knew ANYTHING about Verizon, you'd know that they use BREW 2.0 as their multimedia/emulation environment, not Java. So there aren't any JAR/whathaveyou files and as far as the general public is concerned, it's damn near impossible to rob games from VZW. So dish out the few measily bucks if you have a BREW enabled phone and suck it up this time.

No sound effects? Thats unpossible. Though I was kind of looking forward to getting it if I ever get one of the latest phones, along with Doom RPG, but meh.

I recall seeing that in a newspaper article a couple months ago, wasn't that game download paired with a contest of some sort?

My phone is a crappy old LG5450, but it uses the J2ME platform which means all the homebrew games I want. All it takes to hack my phone is some simple hex editing and line manipulation.
Screw charging $2-$3 for a midi, I'll use real MP3s and put them in myself. And I hack the high scores in order to humiliate people who want to play games on my phone.

Yes. Data Cable fun. Been doing it for years with my 4400 and my 6000. I now use Virtual Serial Ports via my BlueTooth dongle... nifty. But sorry, BREW2 != J2ME
