Showoff Central! Yeah, I'm not that fond of the name, but I wanted something general in a hurry, and Admiral Fastpants was close enough at the time.
Basic rules are as follows:
-This is a fairly open forum, allowing for posting of works that you personally have created (or have express permission to post), which can include artwork, animations, game or software mods (fanwork, not for pirating), music, web comic updates, written works, and the like. This is not a place to advertise people to go to your website or forum. Plugging special project setups (heavily modified forums designed for specialized roleplay or gaming) is fine, but "hay come to my proboard its better" isn't going to go over well.
-Don't post a lot of seperate threads. If you're posting a general assortment of your artwork (there you are, General! Discussion was looking for you!), keep it to one collective thread for a while. Same goes for other small works, although major works may be afforded their own thread. Basic idea: Don't flood the forum every time you draw a sketch of a hat. Unless it's a really, really cool hat.
-Content can go up to Mature levels, with at maximum implied Sexual Content and non-sexual Nudity. Violence should also be kept in a relative check. Language is fairly open, save for racial slurs, which may only, ONLY exist in fantasy terms relating to made-up species. Yeah, I know, some of you aren't happy about that, but that's how it is. "Thinly veiled" uses will be smacked down as if they were real. It's not a pleasant subject, it's a cheap way to be engaging, so unless you have something REALLY GOOD in mind, steer clear of it.
-Tag subjects of posts that are going to have higher levels of content. (T) for Teen-level (doesn't have to be everything, just the "on edge" ones) and (M) for Mature (more adult content, such as nudity or violence) is at the least a basic recommendation, and it helps to give a summary why. I.E. "The Devil's Door (M, Violence, Language)" Abbreviating is fine, as long as it's clear what you mean, but obviously don't list the cuss words or detailed genital names as part of the warning, duh. Again, "(T)" isn't everything, just the stuff with more significant cuss words, hints of nudity, sexual references or crudeness, along those lines.
-Contacting Administration (particularly Kulock, but H Hog or CML will be fine too if need be) regarding questions or concerns with a work you want to post will afford a significant amount of leeway. Basically, if you aren't sure, ask first. But if we consider it and say "No," that's the end of discussion, and you just shouldn't show it here. (There are limits to what can be included before we're practically NC-17, and this isn't the place for that.)
-Don't create works specifically to push or test the boundaries, because we'll err on the side of caution. This isn't a question of free speech, more that there's a time and place for everything, and some things aren't appropriate for this forum.
-The Comic/Hoax Archive isn't going anywhere, and will be fixed after some more work can be done. This is just a supplement.
-Don't lie about other people's work being your own. That's dumb, and you'll land yourself in serious trouble for it. Cite resources used when possible. It doesn't take more than five seconds to type, "Thanks to Myrie for the Pseudo Sonic sprite," so if you used their work, be respectful to that. (Obviously you don't need to thank Sega for the Sonic sprites, or Adobe for making Photoshop. They were paid to do those things.)
You're all depressed and bogged down now. Hurrah! Go channel those feelings into your poem of despair and anguish, and post away!
