I don't really feel like going through all the Sonic stuff I have (which includes the wrapper for a packet of Sonic mints) but since this was metioned by H Hog in the previous incarnation of this post, I'll mention that I was in the attic today and what did I see?: Mouse Trap: Sonic the Hedgehog edition?

H: I fogot, I'm also missing that image card that goes above the elevator. Jolly: Not quite Mouse Trap, although as I said before, the game, the game is from the same mould as another pre-existing game that was just given facelift. Basically the object was to get a metal marble from the bottom to the top by pressing that big yellow button in the right way at the right times and you were either assisted or hindered by various moving parts powered by a battery. It's hard to explain without some sort of video, but put simply, it was a bit of fun, it was challanging and tricky (to a 7 year old at least), and it had a pretty intelligent design. For reference, you see that part near the top between 80 and 90? There was a magnet behind the plastic that lifted your ball up that streach, you had to ensure the ball was in the right position by tilting the red platform (via the yellow button, like all the other stuff you controlled)

Battery? It was wind-up, wasn't it? The size D battery compartment behind the machine suggests otherwise. I can understand your confusion though. To start the machine, you turned a dail to either AUTO, which made the machine work continuously, or to START where the machine would work and you'd have until the dial slowly rotated to STOP to get the ball the machine (maybe more then once). This last system is similar to a wind up, but it was still battery powered. Hermit: Thanks, that's the machine it was based on alright. For reference, in the Sonic version, the crane at the top showed Sonic, and the hot air balloon was one of those round shooty things from Oil Ocean Zone (both are missing from my version in the photograph).

I have gods knows how much Sonic crap currently sitting up in the loft as I have no room for it. These include almost every issue of STC, most of the UK sonic books, Burger King and McDonalds toys etc.. The vinyl of the crappy Sonic UK single. I also have this on CD. "Sonic is back! IN POG FORM." Sega Games collection, excluding Neo Geo Pocket, Mega CD and Gamecube games. I Have lots of other crap too, but I'll need to take photos of them anoher time.

I never really been huge on extensive Sonic swag, like getting cheap merchendise like bubble gum wrappers and all that nonsense. I've always gone by the ethos that the games are the only important stuff, and everything else is concidental. But I will gather my stuff. Later though. In the mean time, I have a few March pictures of my near complete collection of canon Japanese Sonic games (need Heroes and Sonic CD). The first of many:

I never knew there were "Sonic & Knuckles" era figurines... Could you close-up those a bit for a better look, G-man?

Other than Knuckles himself, most of the toys in that set are Soic 1 badniks, funnily enough. There's even a Metal Sonic in there.

Yeah, I had a few of them myself, but traded them all to Tyro in Germany (for some Japanese fan comic and the Sonic CD Japanese soundtrack), as they were poorly made rubbish.

Bluetail, can I move in with you and live with those plushes? NO. I have more plushes. That was before Easter, and I have a small army of rabbits. I could re-enact Night of the Lepus! And who else has a plush echidna who -isn't- Knuckles? It's small and hideous and yellow! As for the redone game pit, you're wrong =(. He has arms and legs, and a little shirt that says "Pac-Man: Eat you up!" and a little depressed ghost printed in his mouth. He wears my plastic tiara and wolf ears. And I put the Sega CD-32x away until we move. Playing Stoker's Dracula isn't my greatest priority... I need to make some custom plushes. Bunnie. Har. And Bark.
