I was very reluctant to give anyone I know outside of two or three people a preview of this because I am kind of embarassed. But I think there's enough now to show you guys and I think the current progress I've made into it is decent enough to showcase. img297.imageshack.us/my.php?image=humblebeginningsfinalprgk0.swf&width=480S'not finished, but I'd like to hear some complaints so I know what to edit. A lot of things in the beginning scene bug me and I'm gonna fix them (mainly poorly-erased lines) but I already...fixed that afterwards. ANY DANG WAY please critique, duuuudes. There are a lot of small things I'm proud of but a lot of things I'm sure could be better. I am eager to improve!

Probably not as bad as you think it is. You're getting much better at animation. All I'd suggest is to maybe speak a little louder and clearer (or turn your recording volume up), and see if you can get other people to be VAs if you're planning on having multiple characters. One tiny nit-pick: It shouldn't be too hard to take the black bg away from the loading thing, I think you just need to right-click it and click 'Edit.' From there you should be able to delete the black and adjust the color of the text and progress bar.

Yeah, volume was the biggest complaint so far I am definitely gonna do something about that with the next few clips I need to record. That is a helpful tip, by the way, and I thank you!!

I giggled. I found it cutely amusing, needs a little general development though - VAGUE CRITICISM YAY.

I'm preeeeeeeeety sure I've seen that box-car gag somewhere before.
Although I'm guessing that was the point.

I was waiting for someone to notice! Yeah. I did a bit of a bad job making it clear that was my point. I'm going to do that later. Seriously. SERIOUSLY And if you think about marshmallows deep enough you'll know I'm going into even worse places. Ughh. Now that my parents know I'm doing a webcartoon I can't make it as nerdy because then it'll be all "oh I don't get that joke Evan that was weird" because they will nag and nag until I let them see every episode. I think I give up.

Well then just make a separate webtoon for them that they'll get tired of seeing quickly. Duh. *home run'd*
Seriously though, you're not making it for them, so you shouldn't have to cater to their sense of humor.

That had a distinct "Bonus Stage" feel to it. Not that it's a BAD thing...

That's what I was going for with the opening scene See, um? www.bonusstages.com/bonusstage1.html Just...watch it. Yeah. After this scene I pretty much do away with any such DISTINCT FEEL until like the end. It's...obviously not, um...obvious...yet, but the stupid cartoon is just supposed to be all "ha ha I'm paying homage to the first episodes of other webcartoons". I wanted to do something different but it was really just the best I could think of for a first episode.

Still, it was better than anything I could make.
