It's confirmed that the license holder is Kadokawa USA, as found out through an exploit of server errors. However, they've fixed this error, reset the hit counter and changed the hidden message in the HTML source again. Now it says that "Project North American Conquest" will begin tomorrow and features a quote from the Data Integration Thought Entity.

I'm not just judging this from screen shots and artwork, but also from plot summaries. That you didn't even know what genre the show was doesn't really say a lot for these plot summaries. I'm just sayin'.

Tenchi Muyo was also a harem featuring a lot of Sci-Fi elements.

I think Aaron's original point is that all those series look like cheap shit anyway, regardless of genre. It's not an "anti-otaku ._.;;" statement, it's a "anti-cheap bullshit" statement. Wadading.
I just realised how redundant this post actually is, so I dunno. I guess I could bitch about how things need to be more unique and the visual aspects of a cartoon are very important and not at all "shallow", but I suspect it would be like "arguement, followed by rebuttal, followed by rebuttal of rebuttal" between two sets of people with different interests and ideas of what makes a "good" cartoon.

Site updated. They now have a video clip which confirms licensing through Kadokawa USA with distribution services provided through Bandai (no word on what Recording Studio is being used). It's a live action segment, except the characters that are supposed to be Mikuru and Yuki are played by Japanese people and speak the language while "Haruhi" is played by some Pink Ranger. There's an "O RLY? YA RLY! O RLY? YA RLY! NO WAI!" joke in there as well. They also give props to fansub watchers who buy official DVDs.

I lightly watched the video, at least a few seconds of it and...uh, I dont know, I just feel outright uncomfortable. ADV and Bandai's actors (From what I've viewed of all things ADV, and Love Hina from Bandai) This just cant end well...
That live action "Haruhi" didnt look or sound determined, just a woman who reads things off a piece of paper.
I dont know, someone summarize it, please. I gotta go to bed.

The fact that Haruhi is played by the pink ranger from Power Rangers in Space is epic.

I hope episode 12 doesn't get too mucked up. Oh what am I saying? I'm just going end up turning subtitles on anyway.

Hey everybody. asosbrigade.com/auditions/a.phpVote for Mikuru's voiceover. Choice 2 seems to Stephanie Sheh, I'm incapable of determining who the other 3 are.
