Wait... it says that it's the seventh in the series. Where are 5 and 6?

There was Virtual Boy Wario Land, don't forget. Not sure what the other is, although there was supposed to be a GBC version of one of the Wario Land games already released. But I don't think it was ever actually put out.
Edit: Wait, it says it's the SIXTH title in the series, not the seventh. So yeah, VB Wario Land is the only unnumbered one.

They probably count Wario World as number 6. As for the game itself, I'm kinda doubting that they're still working on it since we haven't had anything new since last-last E3. Having said that...power-up suggestion?

It's entirely possible that Wario World and the Virtual Boy title are suddenly part of the numbering scheme, but I think you're all forgetting something. What is the full title of the original Wario Land game?
Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3
If we go by that numbering, that would make Wario Land 4 the sixth entry in the Super Mario Land series, even though they had dropped the "Mario Land" extension two games before. Why they would choose to resurrect this numbering scheme now, especially without the Mario name, I do not know, but it seems to make the most sense to me.
Of course, when have I ever made sense?
