Whoa! How come I just found out about this now? Time to own the first season of one of the best animated series of this decade.

YSMN bought the individual DVDs, since they came out first. I dont think there is enough knowledge of the DVD set coming up.

I might get it, I havent seen much of the show since it airs on Nick, but what I've seen of it is definatley good, YSMN also forced me to watch the DVDs and I quite enjoyed them. But now, I need the room in my DVD shelf for these sets.

And the money.

They've been advertising it since at least mid-August. Volume 5 and the boxset were released simultaneously.

My friend plays Sokka on that show. When he first told me about it I was like, "You're making one of those wannabe anime shows?! N00000Z!!!!" Then I actually saw the thing, and it was REALLY good.

It's actually more deep then most shows on Nickelodeon, as well as a bit more mature. Now we all ask him to give us spoilers ahead of time XD

Matrixx and Red are telling the truth. I can't name a single character in that show that I outwardly say I dislike. Even the villians are intiguing. the action is well coreographed and quick. It's also great to see this show is doing so well in the ratings as it deserves them, and often times other shows I like get canned

This week's episode was especially heart-wrenching with Iroh's story and the tribute to Mako.

I would say this show is better than most of the anime and American cartoons I've seen so far.

And yeah, if you have the money, purchasing this boxset is worth it.

Fun fact: Nick wanted Studio Ghibli to animate this series, but they turned it down so they used the Korean Studio who animated the movie Wonderful Days.

But...the credits said that Mako did the voice in that episode, so it must have become a tribute late in production.

Haha, It happened after an improv show we did... It was right after the first season. I don't ask much anymore, I usually just watch the eps.

You are a lucky, lucky man. Ask him to specially record us some lines. Doesn't have to be professional quality recording, of course. It'd just be so awesome to have a Sokka voice saying something either so out of context or personalized.

I don't mention it that much though, it gets kind of annoying when your friends keep remarking "Hey! You're on a TV SHOW".
